(MMM) Mini's Miami Moonbuggy

Looking very good Mini! You got that new controller all figured out yet?

Almost was looking into the manual and seeing the options.
Just gotta upgrade my caps on the FXR's they got a little too hot for me the other day:shock:"thumbsup"

Id have to go back and read it, but there were some good posts recently about which capacitors work correctly and which ones don't. It seemed like they were telling us to stay away from the RS ones.

Here's a few of the discussions:

Most of the either say stay away or just as an emergency backup.

Here's a link to the stock replacements on Digi Key - they ship quick.

Dam thanks form the heads up not looking for a one time fix this is gonna stay in the truck, was just thinking about the tear down again to resoder the new caps so don't wanna do it more then one time.

And really don't wanna pay 3 or 4 dollars for something I can get for dollar. Let me ask around cause from what I read the one I picked looks like it will hold but rather get better info on it, better safe then sorry. "thumbsup"

That's where you just have to use trial and error to run your packs and then check them until you figure out "about" how much run time you get before its time to charge them up again. I don't see any way around that...the programming just doesn't allow for a 4S cutoff like you said.

Mini...the deal with the rat shack stuff is most of it is higher resistance than you'd want on the FXR. The problem there is that it will cause more heat buildup in the system. The stock cap is a 14 ohm ESR so you don't want much above that. The caps that digikey sells are either the same as stock, or for the 25v caps they are 18 ohm.

When running this 4s how does the cut off work. I thought it on for 2s or 3s?

If you have Hot Wire the FXR does accept 4S setup but you need the hot wire, trust me on that I made sure before I invested in 4s batteries.

I get you so you suggest to get one closer to what the stock one is? Cause they have them, cause my only thing is if I can buy it now and install it today and will do the same work someone else would that I would have to order and wait for, why would you not get it. You know what am talking about. "thumbsup"

Well had a little concern with my FXR caps and after a little discussion decided to upgrade my caps to these"thumbsup"

Well ran mine on the rocks for the first time and wow very smooth and the wheel speed is insane love it. My only issue is the incline drag brake but have seen around and am not the only one with this little issue have gotten a couple of ideas on how to take care or improve this so will be doing some testing this week and weekend.

Love my new 4pl just have to get use to the button placement caught myself looking down and even trying to hit the front button lol but all in all love it just gotta get some wheel time.

Caps should be here by this week along one other goodie trying to get everything ready for Nats, and as much drive time as I can get.

4S and ready to go  well got my caps in today and installed them no heat what so ever on them, the specs are 860uf at 25V. Here are some pics of the installation enjoy.
