Highlucks - Team BWD -

A lot of people have been asking what is going on with this build. I have tried to post it a couple of times over the last couple of days, but keep losing the text when trying to find links. Any way lets hope third time is a charm.

First off I would like to thank Don for making me part of Team BWD. Hopefully I can do him proud and score a couple of wins with this new rig.So I have had this "thing" for a few weeks now but with the holidays drawing ever closer and a very hectic work load at present. Time and motivation to get this completed has been lacking to say the least. At this point in time it is 90% complete I just need to finish off the electrics in a way that I am happy with and she will be on the rocks in all it glory.

I plan to run this new BWD creation against my Mantis, which is now at a point where I am very happy with it. So much so that it was good enough to tie for third in the recent Crawlanz N.S.W. state titles earlier this year. Driver error stopped me from making it a second but that is a story for another day.

On to this build. Sorry no pictures of the build process and besides anything that I could come up with would pale in comparison to Mike's (limited77's) Stop motion build video. Mate you have a level of patience that is beyond me. Nice work. There is not a whole lot left of the stock XR10 with this one two lower axle halves, the front axles and a few bearings hopefully it can withstand my driving.

Because of the internal width of the chassis I wanted to modify the FXR's so that the receiver wires would not get pinched between the chassis and the casing. So here is what I ended up with RX wires now exit at the front of the speedy casing"thumbsup"

Looking good! I dig the way you mounted those slugs!

Cheers Jeremy, as soon as I saw these wheels I knew I had the perfect weights for them at work.

.

3 3/4" at the high bend of the rear. 3 3/8" at the front of the skid.

Not too sure on the stainless yet. I might knock some up just to see how they look on this.;-)

Hey Cam i didnt see the pics up, Looks great in white. Is a way off , but be good to see it crawl against the boys over here when you compete with us. Hoping my Wedge can give the Bergs a lone losi and all the other XR boys a run this year At least 2 BWD rigs taking on the other boys in cANZ lol :ror:

What have you got planned for panels and skinz?

Ben, I will cut some stainless to see how it looks and go from there"thumbsup" This rig might get a face lift in due course.

Bulleit bourbon and cola in a can!? Time to start looking for it here in the states8)

Bulleit, jacks, beam, turkey they all come in cans with cola down here."thumbsup"

Its no longer a shelf queen this thing now runs under its own steam. I hope to have it out on the rocks this afternoon as long as it is not too hot.

Things left to do.
