XR10 weak left steering

I am having some troubles with the steering to the left feels weaker than to the right. When it goes full to the left the left front tire goes kinda floppy or seems almost detatched from the rest. I have the longer axial steering arm, the Chaotic Crawlers solid link and HR knuckels and chubs. I have tried to find info on the forum but cant seem to find quite what I looking for. Thanks for any tips.

It sounds like you have some binding toward that side. Cycle the steering (both with the servo horn connected and disconnected) and see if you find any contact or binding of the steering.

I have cycled through the steering both ways and it feels smooth no binding or contact anywhere until full lock when the tires hit the shocks. When it is turned full left to the point the right tire stops the left tire will basically flop a little further and no other steering parts move. The servo horn is center with the tires straight, and i have a short link that I made with two rod ends I stole off my old LCC. not sure if the horn is to short or if something is wrong as far as the geometry goes it all looks good but just doesnt perform right when turning left.

how old is the servo? how are the end points set up? are you stopping the tire before it comes in contact with either the link or shock? pics/ video? i know these are basic questions im just trying to get a feel for what may be wrong

If it feels smooth, have you checked the rod ends you are using? Is the ball in one getting loose or is it loose on the grub screw holding it to the drag link?
Have you checked the bearings in the knuckle? You may have one about to come apart.

mine does the same thing its the servo like it doesnt have the strength for it
im running horn near the tire vanquish knuckles and c-hubs im running a 7954 at 7.4 not direct to the servo and have a chaotic crawler style link and my eps are set right

I actually have the same problem seems like when full left there is ton of slop and when I full dig to the front while turning to the left it will grab the ground and pull it's self to full steer but bounce around with the slop. I'm installing the chaotic steering flipping the servo upside down and using a redo/jato for the servo horn to connect to. Also getting a longer servo arm in the morning to try and fix it but not hopeful after reading this I wil update with pics before and after and performance report tomorrow after my comp.

mine doesnt feel sloppy its just seems like it doesnt have any torque to it

Well just tried some new mods with flipping the servo upside down with the longer servo horn using a jato and revo end to make the link they make perfect length together. It took care of almost everything but still having a slight weakness problem to the left.

A longer servo horn will only make your servo weaker.

IMO, you have some binding somewhere.

I found a problem using the stock steering slider. The screw on the left side hits the transmission cover and slows the steering to the left. I never noticed it until I was at a comp yesterday and compared my stock steering to one that has been modded.

Afterward I came home and cut off the slide guide, removed the slide, turnbuckles and rod ends. I replaced it with a length of 8-32 threaded rod in a delrin sleeve and Revo rod ends. I then beefed up the steering link with a 1/4" delrin rod and Axial 80005 #1 rod ends.

The result is full lock to lock steering that is so smooth. I now have to use D/R to keep from spinning the shocks with the tires."thumbsup"

What he said!!!"thumbsup""thumbsup" I recently found the same thing and have a chaotic crawler ti tie rod ordered. But whats the deal with how sloppy the wheel is on the front shafts, it definately takes from regularity in cycle. it seems like i could space the back side of the cvd out from the housing an keep it from wiggling around so much. has anyone ever done that to your knowledge or do I just have a sloppy part somewhere needing to be repaced?

I have other RCs and decided I wanted to try a crawler. I decided on the XR10 and just got it done. I noticed steering slop and found this link. Would it be possible for some one to post pictures on the above fix? I am using a middle of the road servo (HS-645MG), but i feel like it should do fine for no more than I have done. I am going to make the horn a little shorter and see if that helps, but I would like to take care of the slop as well. Thanks.

EDIT: Upon further review, perhaps my servo is low end.
