Red Rubicon

Work on the bumper continues... Almost ready for paint.

I noticed Steele42 used some 1/4" cotter pins for tow shackles (see his excellent thread here), so I thought I would try it out.

I thought I could make it look a little bit less like a cotter pin and more like a tow shackle, so a little work with a dremel tool and a file, and it's starting to take shape. Here's a picture of the work in progress along with an unaltered cotter pin for comparison.

I finished the rear bumper and tow shackles. I just need some different hardware to mount the spare tire. It keeps getting loose.

Here are some shots from playing in my sister's backyard.

Wow what a great way to make your own tow shackles  Hope you don't mind but I would like to make some of these for my truck

It's been a long time since I posted any updates, but I've been doing some upgrades recently so here are some pics.

Got some new proline shocks. They're great - softer and smoother than the old stock axials.

Painted my old white OEM beadlocks with some black flexidip and mounted some pit bulls. Awesome tire. These made a huge difference!

I got some of the poison spyder fender flares for the axial JK. They're a little small for the proline JK body, so I fabbed up some aluminum to bolt them to. I want to do the front too, but that's going to be a little bit trickier - there's not going to be much to attach to once I cut the old fenders off.

Did a little crawling when I went up to Tahoe. I'm really happy with how this thing is set up now.
