Ok, I just talked to Steve at Cliffs. He said no problem on 2 and 3 June. He also said we can stay and run the R/Cs after dark. $ 20 a driver wether it is RC or 1:1, $5 a spectator.

So we can do Cliffs all weekend or Cliffs Saturday and Starved Rock on Sunday.

There are campgrounds close and hotels in Morris, about 15 mins away.

What do you guys think of opening this up to the Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana guys? Or just keep it Illinois or just NIRC?

i got crazy work going on right now and you seem to be handling this quite nicely. so whatever ends up being the plan, i'm in. "thumbsup"

if we head to the cliffs, i can let somebody use the 4runner to pack people and rigs into, but only as a way to get into the park, not to wheel with or be blasting thru mud and scratching it up on trees and stuff... drive it like you would treys nice and clean machine. 8)

i dont HAVE to bring my gf btw. just would be nice to get her out of the house and introduce her to wheeling.

Dibs on the runner!:lmao:

Yea, I dont HAVE to bring anybody either but, I know the pooch would dig it and the girl would too. She'll talk everybodys ear off though. If your girls like walking/hiking/nature..or if she just likes chillin, quiet time or whatever else girls do when they are alone.. I'm sure she'll be fine.

I can work on this and get it out to the general RC public. I will also work to find lodging for our team. Just each of you let me know if you want a tent site or a hotel room. If you want a private room or share a room also please.

Steve also asked if one or more of us could take a drive down and look at areas to use. I am willing to go if someone else drives. But if Jason can swing a day, it would be best as he knows it.

maybe we can both bring our gf's and they can go off and do shit on their owns...

i dont want to bail on mine, but i also dont want her attached to my hip the whole time. i know for a fact she will hate mud and bumps and all that goes with 4wheeling...

I think I'm going to get this for Hera's front servo: Savox SA1283SG Digital Servo

Dimensions(mm): 40.8x20.2x37.4
Weight(g): 80.0
Speed(@4.8V sec/60): .16
Torque(@4.8V oz-in): 347.2
Speed(@6.0V sec/60): .13
Torque(@6.0V oz-in): 416.6
Gear: Unique Steel
Bearing: 2BB
Case: Full Aluminum
25 Tooth Spline

any opinions?

no experience with savox's...

why not a hitec 7950? damn good servo...

I have four 7950's...I like them...and Hitec has a hell of a warranty. I've already had one repaired for free.

Count me in as a tent.

Does that mean your in?

Maybe baby?
I would have to check with the boss. He wont be back from his sisters wedding till Tuesday from Jersey.

I mean, if nobody minds. I am new to you guys after all. Btw last time I was in gurnee I stopped at big bass pro shop and they had a sale on tents. Some slept up to 6 and even 8 adults. Probably would be a good idea to chip in for one big tent depending on things..

Ummm, not so sure you'll find anyone that will want to go in on a tent with you. Isn't that kinda like backing into a parking spot at a forest preserve? :lmao: Kidding.

I have my own and it's a three person but like I said before, it's really just a one man tent...plus any females...one man tent. It's like a motorcycle, you should never have more than one dude on it. Not that I'll have any girls...but that's still the rule damnit!

We probably should consider reserving a camp spot though if they allow it, those places usually have restrictions on the number of tents set up at each site.
