I just uwillingly retired my EVO 4G, cracked to outer screen and can't seem to get it to work after I attempted to install the new one.

So I moved over to prepaid and snagged the EVO 3D on VM, rooted and a fresh rom is all I need.

My neighbor guy just upped his phone to the new Galaxy S3, pretty slick phone from what I've seen. My wife has made mention about getting an iPhone, honestly I don't think she would like it. She loves her EVO other than the overall size of it. EVO 4G Design is what we're looking at replacing it with.

I think flappjaxxx is only doing Note ROMS but if not, his ROMs are amazing, he's a nut, seriously he has 2 note (stock and cynagen mod) ROMS, and updates them every other day. :shock:

Sounds like some of the Nightlys some peeps were handing out for the EVOs. I personally ran Swagstr's SOS stuff on my ol' EVO, super smooth and I liked the way it looked. He's since moved to the 3D, not sure if it'll work 100% on the VM 3D just yet.

so they changed up the ports and the case a bit. this is why i won't own another apple product (unless i get it for dirt cheap). the differences in the iterations are few, not to mention the annoying inability to pop a micro sd in, or even get at the battery easily, its stupid and pointless. going to a micro usb plug would sway a lot of people that have a stockpile of chargers and cords, and dumping the standard ipod connector is a kick in the ass that manages to hit nut as well. the ios interface has always been a point of personal hatred, and while i do see limiting the app store being a decent thing, its also locking out a lot of software. the samsung lawsuit was a final nail, the products in question may be very similar, but there are only so many ways to make a phone, i personally would laugh till i cried if i saw someone using a semi-spherical phone.

all that being said, there is no denying apple tends to put out solid hardware, it works, and works well for a while. still, pitted against my samsung rugby smart, i would take the rugby over any iphone model...not just because of the fact the rugby can take a very hard beating, but because the user interface has more customization, the software is open, and if i want more storage, i can simply get a bigger micro sd card. i think apple shot themselves in the wallet really, those that have spent massive amounts of money getting the older ipod connector accessories will probably stay away from it till new accessories are made at a decent price. half of the success of the iphone was due to the fact that the target audience was apple users that had ipod docks and connectors already, so it was plug and play. now, there will have to be an adapter, or new equipment. i'm sure the aftermarket already has plans in place, but that's stacking money onto the price out of the box.

Yep, the conspiracy is, Apple sued Samsung because Samsung is their main competitor, and they can't be passed up/do anything to get Samsung kicked back a notch.
Kind of like consumer reports vs Samurai. They can't have competition, they got to kick low to win. I hope Samsung can say eat shit about making Apple's screens and Processors.

The RAM and internal memory chips, as well as the Ax processor.

Those are all chips...built by Samsung to Apples design specs (Ax processor based on ARM technology, not owned by Samsung).

Hence also why many of these components for the i5 have moved to other manufacturers.

i have the 4S so since it will run iOS 6 well i'm sure

Yup no problem on the i4s at all, should even make the i4 a good deal better.

Samsung doesn't make the screen for the iphone n00b! That would be LG.

Plus Samsung isn't stupid, their chip team is separate from their phone team. They will keep selling to Apple all they can, because turning down Apple business is about as dumb as crawling with a TLT.

I always felt the data plans were a total rip-off but things as they are I might make the leap into 2010...

Obviously you didn't look close enough. You assumed I said iphone. I said apple, and they do make some apple product screens.

Sorry you like an out dated simple (apple naziism) phone. I've owned an iphone and has 5 of my family members. All 5 (2 already have happily traded to galaxy) plan on going a different route after playing with my Samsung.

Oh after a year nearly all had speaker home button or power button failure.

I've been running my note at 1.83ghz and use it mannnyyy hours a day. I'm on my phone more than I'm off it.

From someone who has owned both. Stock and jailbroke/rooted.

Plus now I don't drop calls! Iphone 4 loved to lose bars, I have 2 more bars everywhere I go. Full bars in 4G right now. You touch an iphone and you lose a bar. (I use to set mine down when downloading over 3g because of this)

I've had my Note for a few months and could never go to a small screen. I cringe anytime someone says, "Hey let me show you this picture I took", and then they do all this itty-bitty finger pinching and scrolling. I usually just say, "Email it to me so I can look at it on my Note".

Wait...Samsung doesn't do that by offering 3 versions of the Galaxy within 18 months? Nothing like making your customers want to keep upgrading because the next Android OS won't be out on the older phones.

Not on screen size but something less noticeable.

Also the Notifications, navigation, LTE, thinness and screen size have all been things android has had for a long time.

But to be fair This is the evolution of android before and after the Iphone, without the Iphone we would be still fiddling with black berry style phones and RIM may still be a big name in cell phones, thank god for the iphone ;-)
