Fwck gun control

Quite a few states have either repealed the death penalty, or have them but don't use them.
:
This is part of the problem. With the death penalty off the table, they know that they will not get fried for what they do. Rather life in jail with everything provided for them. Save money, save jail space they say we dont have enought of, and the deterrent of the death penalty back into the system.

PS, Rockhard, you sorta scare me with your comments and "ready access" to multiple guns. Frankly if it's that bad near you, I would just frikkin move.
:
My kids (11 and 13) know how to use, and access my guns if needed. They have also been trained since they were 7 starting with air rifles.

I live in the country, there is issues with meth in Missouri. Not as bad as it used to be, but it is still here. Still were I live is dam sight safer than the east side of ST Louis (the Illinois side).

At my dads there are guns in biometric lock boxes hidden in various places in the house. Dad is a gun smith, people know this. Someone tries to get in anyone in the family can defend themselves. This is on top of a security system. If some how they get to the safe, they would have a hell of a time getting into it.

That's funny, since an AR15 is 100% customizable you'd be shocked how different you can make it look based on your design and parts.

So you'd say a Winchester 300 looks "Like a sniper rifle"? :lmao:

See here in America we have hunters training were you learn about guns.

Assuming an AR15 is a hard to shoot weapon? Again wrong. It's very simple to load, aim, and fire - quite a bit like a semi auto pistol

Less damage? Nope sorry.

.45 pistol round with 230 grains going 875 fps is going to cause major internal damage. If you hit something on a body, you've likely stopped the threat. The .45 will transfer 100% of it's energy upon impact, where the .223 will pass through and lose energy elsewhere, making it less effective.

The 45 would enter and exit larger and cause far more internal disruption staying the in body. The 223 or even 308 would enter cleaner and exit cleaner because of its velocity.

Another attempt to divert the real crux of the matter.

Have you seen the pics of this kid?
Can you imagine a scrawny kid like that with very little shooting experience being able to shoot off over 90 rounds accurately with a .45?

Still doesn't change the subject though SOMETHING NEEDS to be done.

Since when does age have anything to do with how fast someone can reload a weapon? How is it that you are such an expert at summing up that kid's shooting abilities?

You obviously don't understand the workings of the AR. These guys have explained quite well. Admit you don't get it and bow out. Have you ever even fired one of these weapons?

I will say it again. You are not even a U.S. citizen and you dont live here, so what is your deal? I'm sure you think you are making some good points, but your points have huge holes in them. Then you have the audacity to question the guys that obvoiusly get it.

Since most everyone on this thread knows each other, your accusations of insanity and ridiculousness aren't going to hold much weight here. It is quite obvious the direction in which those terms should be directed.

Who said anything about age?

I'm not going to give a run down of my work history and experience with firearms as it makes absolutely no difference.

If this kid hadn't been able to get hold of a semi automatic assault rifle type weapon (better?) more of those kids would have been going home that night.

With regards to insanity as Albert Einstein said
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

etc etc etc

I know several that I shot with regularly. This is a guy who shoots in the same IDPA class at STL Benchrest that I do. He is shooting in the CDP class, with a 1911 in 45ACP. This is not what is considered as a "high capacity" pistol.

2011 Missouri State IDPA Match - Jeff Meyers - YouTube

Wrong. Typical 5.56 round is 62gr. Typical 45ACP round is 230gr. Couple the larger mass with the expanding capability of a hollow point. The 45ACP produces MUCH more devastating results.

Mandatory gun safety training from about 6th grade to graduation.
Automatic death penalty for any crime committed with firearm.

From the reports i've read so far though, this kid was NOT a regular shooter, the reports say he accompanied his Mum to the range a few times but it does not seem as though he was experienced or as adapt at shooting as your mate.

Being a stocky bloke that's fired .45's i would sooner have a scrawny inexperienced kit shoot at me with a .45 than a AR15.

I'd like to know how many massacres it take before anything actually gets done, and I'm not implying the answer is gun control.

I'd also like to know where the line is between your right to be safe and free and your right to walk around armed. If I lived in a state of paranoia where I needed to pack a gun everywhere I go just to feel safe, I probably would have gone full crazy a long time ago.

A possible problem would be when the police finally do show up and everyone is armed, who is the threat? I'm pretty sure they'd be taking aim at anyone holding a gun.

This is exactly how i feel.

There is no logical reason why guns can't be locked in safes when not in use.
There is no logical reason to have a AR15 other than "i want it" yes you might be able to hunt with it, there are better rifles out there for hunting though.

So really it boils down to selfishness.

I will not allow any more rules and regulations to be enforced on guns because i don't want them.

There HAS to be a compromise otherwise this is going to continue to happen year in year out.

@cb
Aloot of american wont compamise our rights, to prevent bad things from happening.

for one, it wont stop the bad....so the only result is, we lost some rights.
second, the constitution, and what it stands for is worth more to some of us, than you, who dont have these rights, and who;s raising wasnt under these rights, can understsnd

this is why its frustrating to you...you dont understand us, and probably never will.

this is the 1st case I remember

You ever shot a 1911? 90 rounds is nothing because of the heavy weight of the gun. Plus I've yet to see ballistics that state he only used the Bushmaster AR and never once used the 2 pistols he carried in with him.

Want to know what's common about each and every one of these incidents? They all happened in GUN FREE ZONES.

Beating a dead horse here guys. The assault rifle ban is gonna come, like it or not. They are gonna cover over the real problems in this country and go for the instruments used. Simpler and then they can be the hero's cause they did something to protect the masses. If society was (ours) closer knit, where we believed in helping our neighbors, just to help them, then people that are doing these things would be seen doing the strange things that set in motion their actions leading to this kind of things. But as I have read elsewhere, we are to selfish (myself at times), to help another out. BUT thats what those in power want, so we have to look for them for help. Just my opinion, but while your driving home today, or working where ever you do, look around and you will see what Im talking about. People being , not mean, but uncaring about others.

Well put it this way i read something the other day about death in a yr across the world.

Canada was something like 190 semi tough gun laws

UK was r u ready for this 18 super tough guns law

the USA 9000 and no gun laws

KInda speaks for it self don't ya think.

And i hate to say it but the usa will never change because everyone thinks they should be able to carry a gun.

This how bad it is yesterday a 11yr old boy brought a 9mm to school so that he could protect himself and his freinds.

Just my 2 cents

Does anyone think that if Obama tries to take our guns away, it's going to start a civil war? I can't see everyone just bending over and letting them do that.

so people diiagnosed with ptsd shouldnt drive?

and you say no carry, so people who are considered alcholoics cant carry?
even though they may not be drunk when they carry?

how about drunks....who are not diagnosed yet as alcoholics, can they carry?

how about owning a weapon and having in the home....just not carry?

Don't be an idiot. If you can't argue intelligently, please stop.

Not at all true. Everyone with this argument seems to think that killers limit themselves to one gun. We know that he actually had a few, pretty much every mass murder in history involving guns involved more than just one.

He could have gone in there with .22 pistols, or cheap hunting rifles, or any other small caliber, easy to handle yet non-assault type weapons and killed just as many.

edit: I can go to my local Walmart, buy a couple cheap .22 revolvers, a cheap .22 lever action rifle, a box of ammo, and have the armament to murder as many people as he did in roughly the same amount of time.

Bottom line is criminals and crazies will always find a way to inflict harm upon the populace. Limiting the public's possibilities to defend themselves adequately by use of equal force is a guaranfawkingteed recipe for disaster.

Taking away the ability to defend oneself from a criminal or crazy whome has no regard for gun laws let alone murder laws is dumb. Don't be dumb.

Because the 223 and 30 cal round is used for both military and enthusiast use it is pretty easy to buy fmj or expanding rounds. Your argument for the 223 or 308 or 30-06 round passing straight through is invalid unless you consider the type of bullet used. I have fmj rounds for my 30-06 and varmint rounds for my 223. The varmint rounds are meant to shrapnel on impact.

Absolute rubbish

The vast majority of the civilised world DO NOT have guns, yet we still manage to protect our loved ones and ourselves.

It's just NRA propaganda nd media saturation that's raised a load of insecure people.

I cycled across the US when i was 16, i've travelled extensively up and down the US, i've stayed with mates in what are considered bad areas in the US and walked around at night.
Not once did i wish i had a gun.

You don't NEED a gun to protect yourself

I WANT guns to protect myself and my family as well as have fun shooting when I get the urge.
I don't NEED my RC's but if I want to have fun I WANT them.

So it comes down to selfishness again then.

I want, i want, i want and to hell with the consequences.

It's a shame because if such a small compromise is made your society would be a lot safer for you and your family.

Problem is the NRA have brainwashed folks into believing they NEED a gun and to be without one is "un American"

You'd think after seeing our ancestors fall for the same media campaign with smoking folks would have wised up and started actually thinking for themselves for a change.
