I ordered my Holmes torque master combo today, so the last things I need to pick up are a charger and some lipo batteries. I would like to get a charger that is easy to use, but still does a good job of charging and will be reliable.

I'm not dead set on staying under 100 bucks, but that would be a big bonus, haha

So what are y'all using?

I use the Duratrax onyx 235. Works well for me and easy to use once you learn the how the programming works.

I dont know if it is the best but I have been more than satisfyed with my Icharger 106B+ iCharger 106B+ | iCharger 106B
Have heard that its in reputation of very accurate charger and there are few extras in it.. Ie motor driver, I have used it for breaking in motors. U can set volts and max A to use...
And other feature is internal resistance measuring for lipos, great way to monitor the condition of your batteries ;-)
And in rc cars not so useful hot wire foam cutter-driver :D

thunder AC6 45 bucks, never had an issue for over 2 years and it charges a bunch of different batts.
easy to program , no additional power supply. runs on AC

Duratrax onyx 235

awsome little charger for the price. chargers everything and a usb jack to charger as well.

I use the Duratrax onyx 235. Works well for me and easy to use once you learn the how the programming works.

Ive been using a duratrax oynx 230 for almost a year its great but i would get the duratrax oynx 235 as balance boards built in and the firmware is updateable if read right

I second the AC6. I have a knockoff one that has done very well.

Thunder ac6

I'll be the fourth to recommend this charger. I was running NiMh for a long time as I was simply scared about switching to LiPo cause I never thought I'd be able to figure out a charger. Plus, the prices I was finding kept me from making the switch. I picked one of these up after reading through the specs, seeing the price, and reading all the positive reviews. I truly was amazed! This charger will do it all; almost any size/make of battery (both Nimh and LiPo), and the programming is extremely easy. The best part for me was the fact that it didn't need a power supply, that was a big selling point for me. All-in-all, I'd give this charger 9.75/10 stars. The last quarter of a star is simply deducted because of the name, Thunder isn't very desirable (even though it's great), and nobody wants to admit they're using a product that wasn't featured in the latest RC magazine...:lmao:

My advice: Buy the charger! If you don't like it (and you will), just sell it and spend more money on something "name-brand"

I'm a big fan of the ac6 and I couldnt really care less about who makes it, haha

Is there any real reason anyone has why I shouldn't get the ac6?

Thanks for all the awesome help y'all

I'll second the ICharger. I've got the 208b. I used a Dynam 50w charger for the last couple years, its the same as the Thunder AC. Not a bad charger but its limited and slow. The Icharger can monitor the condition of the cells and can charge a 5000mah 2S in 15 minutes. Can also charge 6 batteries of the same cell count at one time.
You do need a power supply but can pick those up used. I got one for $22.

Another vote for the AC6. "thumbsup"

Also another vote for the Onyx. Both are great, reliable, easy to use. The Onyx travels with me to comps/races while the AC6 stays at home.
