Bender's Honcho............Now Sporting Wraith Axles

IM sure my truck is rather differnt then his because i didn't flip the mounts or stretch the rear. I'm running hot racing wraith links all the way around. Here is a picture of the width differnce between the stock scx-10 axle(front) and wraith axle(rear)."thumbsup"

....and @bender- how long are the shocks your running and what are they?

I am running Axial's 72-103mm comp shocks.

The front shock are limited internally by about 3/8" to lower the ride height. "thumbsup"

You should swap those out for the new 67-90mm shocks! I know the spring rates aren't as soft but maybe the longer blacks will work?

Funny you should say that, I was thinking the same thing this weekend. ;-) :ror:

I think the softer full length comp springs would work good with them. I will have to give it a try and see. "thumbsup"

Get it done!! Axialfest is close

Hey Bender,

When you extended the front and rear drive shafts, about how much did you need to add? I noticed MIP has a set for the Summit and they are 6.3" extended as compared to the Wraith set that measures 5.5" extended. Think that extra inch would get her done?

Great thread BTW.

The Honcho's at Axial are Koo Koo for Coco Puffs if they don't make Kit's and RTR's with the AR60's under the SCX10 chassis,,!!!!!

Plus 4 of these,

MIP Spline CVD™ Kit, Traxxas Summit

Plus 4 of these,

MIP C-Drive Hub 5mm, Axial AX10 (1)

I would have to take some measurements to be sure, I don't have it in front of me right now. Not sure an inch longer would work for my wheelbase though. 8)

I really like the scx-10, but i like it better on the wraith axles man!"thumbsup"

Me too. "thumbsup"

any new updates?

I do have some updates to post, just need to shoot some photos. The steering servo is now chassis mounted, and I have swapped to a 4 door Rubicon body. Next mod is converting the rear to 3 link, and flipping my transmission so the driveshafts go straight to the diffs. I will try to get some photos and an update posted soon. "thumbsup"

I have a scx ar60 jk 4 door, 2.2 claws on xr wheels i run in the "wraith class" with the ECRCC guys. Not really scale, but damn fun!!! Cant wait to see the pics of yours!!!

Love the honcho with the wraith axles. Just picked up mine last week. Saw your video and now I'm debating on buying all the axle parts to do the swap lol

Thanks! I don't think you will be disappointed. 8)

I will try and get some body off shots posted this weekend showing the link set-up and the tranny flip. Here's a shot of the freshly installed Rock Jock housings from Vanquish Products. ;-)

Sick!!! Two thumb up! In the process of a wraith axle install myself. Front is all buttoned up, now for the rear. Hoping to make it look like it came out of the box with em; i will be watching!

Are these preproduction axle tubes, as I don't see them listed on the site yet?

You will love it, super capable, stable and tough. "thumbsup"

They should be available very soon. Keep an eye on Axial's blog for a step by step on building the Wraith Rock Jock's too. 8)

I apologize as I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but..... exactly how much wider are Wraith axles than AX/SCX 10 axles?
What are you using for hub widths front & rear?

Id like to know too. Ive got a chance to buy some Wraith front and rear axles or some original WK axles. Is it just a direct swap?

The SCX10 axles measure 7 5/8" to the outside of the wheel hexes. The Wraith axles measure 9 3/4" to the outside of the hexes. So, they are just over 2 inches wider alone. Different wheel offsets can be used to narrow or widen your stance as well. "thumbsup"
