What happened to all the cool skate shoes?

About 5 years ago I bought 6 pairs of skate shoes. They're starting to show their age and I have been trying to find some new ones. I've gone to tillys, pacsun, board garden, zoomies, zappos, kohls, sports authority, big 5, factory brand shoe outlet, foot locker etc... and they all look ghey:cry: All I want is some plain white/grey/black skate shoes. My favorite was the DC command and they're discontinued:cry:

first off... its "zumiez":flipoff: and second off... if your shopping on zumiez.com, shoot me a PM! im an operations manager for their new warehouse location in kansas.

if your looking in stores (brick and mortar) for shoes, each location will have product that will reflect on what sells for that geological location. our online store will have MUCH MORE! 1.7 million sku numbers to be exact with 27million units on hand.:mrgreen:

keep in mind that most of the stores that you listed have a demographic for 12-21 year old. we all know these justin beiber wanna-be's dress like fools. im only 30 and i feel like a dinosaur when im shopping with us but i cant pass up my discounts.

zumiez is like hot topic, posers are us trying to make a buck, pacsun and tillys same thing...no thanks...I would try shop.ccs.com or Mike McGills skateshop in Encinitas.

considering ccs is owned by footlocker... ya - Who cares who owns CCS, It's where to find cool shoes....another cool shop is Pacific Drive is SD...

ALWAYS support your local shops. no matter what! even i skip out on my discount if it means i can support the little guys. even if their prices are 20% above retail.:roll:
 
Check out danscomp.com that's where I got all my stuff when I was into bmx. Lots of shoes and stuff. I have too noticed skate shoes arent as cool as they used to be.

Every pair of fahkeen Etnies I've had fell apart within a few weeks. Usually the sole would start coming off. Vans have held up over the years, but I've worn DVS the past few years and every pair so far take a beating. I wear a size 13 on the upper end of the size, so I have to buy local to make sure they fit. Hanger 94 is where I've found good deals locally on skate shoes (around 40 bucks) and flip flops.
 
Skate shoes got gay a while ago. Sadly.

Try some different shoes, you might like em. Like New Balance 574. They're cool again, again.

And yes, I agree. I got my first pair of those in 5th grade. I still wear Vans to this day.

I can't wear Vans or Chucks, they break down in two weeks and I am better off going bare foot.

I wore all suede Etnies low tops ( the 1st Arto Saari shoe) for years until they were discontinued. Really tough shoe even when I was riding BMX in them 4 days a week. Now I wear DC Hi tops; the Pro spec 3, which are really comfortable or the DC Spartan. I can never find anything locally I like though. So I figured out my size in the brands I like and buy them on ebay. Last pair of pro specs I got for 45.00 shipped, "if" I could find them at a retail store were over 100.00.

So try Ebay and you might find what you are looking for.
