What happened to all the cool skate shoes?

They seem like they would slip but they don't, they fit just fine. and yea boots do get hot....but your working so usually your feet are always hot, even when i use to wear skate shoes my feet would sweat. last summer where i live it was 90-100 degrees day in and day out and boots never bothered me once, guess you just gotta get use to it.
 
I just picked up a pair of Lakai brea's in black suede for 60 bucks since all my shoes are nasty for desk duty. Emerica and DVS were out in my size, so the dude said these would last. The 13 is a big 13 so that made me happy, and they have that old school Vans sole feel to them that hopefully won't wear out. BTW, my local stores prices sure went up in the year or two since I bought shoes, cheaper online but I need to try them on so a few extra bucks is cool with me...

I made the Jump to New Balance about 8 years ago. I had a bunch of foot pain and the doctor told me the ONLY shoes worth wearing were New Balance and Crocs. I have at least 5 pair of each. I might not pull the high school girls as well as I did, but the drivers license and the fact I can buy beer overcomes the comfortable shoes.
