Scale GTG at Jim's Pit

Wow, has it really been that long? Time sure does fly..

The last comp/gtg i went to was scale4x4's scale comp back in 09.

Dang, even that seems like forever ago. ha... Looking forward to a group outing.. "thumbsup"

Yes. I use it to size up the obstacles I make.
I went with a 18t pinion. It has plenty of wheel speed and good crawling control.

I got some work done today. We are adding at least 10 more
gates through the rocky area, so make sure your truck has its crawling shoes on.

Other people can help recover you or you can use the tow strap/cheater winch method (pull yourself up or over with the tow strap).

Guess i better bring my tow chains, i know i wont have a winch on nothin for a while...

Question tho... Are you implying that the terain will be too challenging at times to drive through it without winching/towing out? Just wondering.

And are these spots built with 1.9 or 2.2 rigs in mind.

And if you have sand ladders, are they acceptable in place of a winch, or in addition to a winch?

The only required scale item is a tow strap. Sand ladders will be very helpful in several places that I know of.
I test run everything I build with my 1.9. If it won't make it, I redo the section. There are some some unforgiving technical areas that are better ran with tow strap assist. I do this to encourage the use of scale gear and the buddy system.

It actually came from RPP Hobby but it is a Tamiya Tundra cab only and i made the cab back out of styrene. Those tundra cabs are hard to do because of the multi-curves involved. Then on top of getting the body painted and cleared,i had to go back and notch out for the driveshaft.....bummer.It turned out ok for somethin i just threw together from leftover parts:twisted:....LOL

Tossed together my arse..You been working on that since the last gtg bro lol. Did you ever use that summit trans lol ?
