UFC Tonight

I'd tell (the passed out) Silve right to his face that was disrespectful. And I'm well aware that Silva uses that approach towards fighters for his counters. We've all seen it before. But this time he had absolutely crossed the line of decency. And Karma new it and Weidman got to be the lucky one to carry out the "Karma's a bitch" job. Out of all the fights I've seen of Anderson's, he deserved to lose this one in the exact way it happened. And the punch to the face as his head was bouncing off the mat was the nail in the coffin. That must have felt really damn satisfying.

I guess I see it a different way. Maybe because I don't hate the guy as it seems everyone else does? To me he does it to distract his opponent, and he probably does it to try and have some fun too. I highly doubt he thought he was going to get tagged like he did. But its his style. He takes the risk and he lost this time. Disrespectful would have been if at the end of the fight he said Weidman got lucky and he'll beat him in a rematch. Another good example of disrespectful is some of the stuff Sonnen was doing in the prefight stuff for both of his fights with Anderson. Bad mouthing the entire country of Brazil as an insult to Anderson. But no one thinks twice about that because people just want to see Anderson lose. Watch the post fight presser again at the very beginning and listen to Dana's opinion on Andersons fighting style and "disrespectful".

All in all I'm glad to have watched Anderson dominate the middle weight class as long as he did. I enjoyed watching him embarrass good fighters. Some of you seem to be taking your hate a little far towards someone who gets paid to fight.

I'll go ahead and say right now If Weidman and Anderson fight again, he will not play around and he will win easily. Case in point..... Sonnen.....

If Silva played poker his name would be Phil Hellmuth.

That looked like a pretty weak left hook with the side of his hand that knocked him out.
Reminds me of Tyson.

indeed perfect placement.
I don't think Silva had any respect for his left & that cost him.
Hell I have not seen much respect for anything come from Silva.

While I respect your opinion, I don't see how you can say he is not disrespectful. IMO he is disrespectful of the game(sport) and to the fans as well as the opposing fighter...total BS! Glad he went to sleep!! Also, Dana is just a fight fan with a great job anyhow...who says I need to agree with him?

I guess I see it a different way.

if you are that good as silva is/was you don't need to get inside other fighters heads, just beat them with talent....I rank silva with the diaz idiots as well, no need to show boat and talk down to other fighters....if your good, just beat them DUHHHH....

I've seen Sonnen be disrespectful.

I've absolutely seen Silva be respectful.

I've even seen the Diaz brothers be respectful.

And I've now seen Silva be disrespectful. Joe Rogan hammered Anderson for what he did, how he was acting, and as we can all see, how things ended up. Yelling at the viewers, "This just isn't the way to fight! Hands on his hips, feet planted squarely in front of Weidman. Don't do this! What was he thinking!?"[/Roganvoice]

I think Silva thought he was untouchable, and I don't like that as a trait in people, so I was rooting ALWAYS for the other guy.

So he's not allowed to try and have fun while he's fighting. IDE guess that's why he does what he does as much as a tactic. This whole no respect because of his antics got started then snowballed out of control to that's all people want to think when they see him. The fact is whatever he was doing has worked really good for him for a long time. So lets all hate him for being good at what he does?

Here's the thing I hate most in a fighter. When they have to be pulled off of a clearly knocked out opponent. And when they look down on their beaten opponent as if they are nothing or trash because they lost. I've never once seen Anderson do either of those. I have however seen MANY other fighters do that. That's usually when I stop liking that fighter.

For me Todd (romulus) there is a line, and he crossed it. Had he not continued to clown on Weidman (but he did more and more!), and thought about finishing this fight, it very well most likely would have gone a complete different direction. The term Professional Fighter was thrown way out the door near the end.

Just my two cents, pal. You see it your way and I see it mine. "thumbsup"

And, I agree with your second post you just made. Anderson, GSP especially, even the Diaz bros will make a quick attempt to pay some respect to their victor, or who they just beat.

Not sure why theres so much hate towards silva:roll: but hey to each his own...

heres an interesting video a buddy showed me earlier. what do you experts think about what was said?

VIDEO | Did Anderson Silva Predict His Own Loss? MMA News | Mixed Martial Arts | UFC News | BJPenn | MMA Fight | UFC Fights

being a casual fight fan, i watch most of the big ppv fights and what i saw from silva/ufc leading up to and during the fight didnt seem 100% kosher. im not sure if it was fixed but theres just something about the whole thing that kinda has me wondering...

I'm not trying to change anyone's mind on who they like or dislike. I just think some are taking it too far. Saturday was nothing new. What he did to Griffin And Bonner was just as bad. They are both good fighters that fell right into his trap and he made them look like amateurs. It worked for him then. It didn't work this time. The faking being stunned was something new and maybe that was the downfall for him.

Towards the end of the first round if you watch Weidman. He clearly looks like he's getting discouraged. It started to work. Where he succeeded is he kept going forward. He landed a perfect shot to the chin that ended it.

don't matter who the fighter is, if your as good as silva was you DO NOT NEED TO DO CRAP LIKE THAT PERIOD ! ! ! ! just beat them with talent, DUHHHH....

imo silva wasnt disrespectful as much as he was cocky.

i have much respect for him but it was very VERY satisfying seeing him knocked out. especially while being cocky and showboating.

for all those people that say the punch didnt look like it was capable of knocking silva out and that he took a dive... what do you say about all the time silva has just reached up and knocked somebody out with what looks like a love tap?

i hope to see him back, and focused, and mean... but with the knowledge that he's not completely untouchable.

you either like the way someone fights..or you dont, most dont care for the showboating style of silva, he seems arrogant, just because he wins doesnt mean its enjoyable to watch..i dont enjoy watching him fight, other than the chance he gets his ass handed to him..and most that do watch him are/were hoping the same
