I got talked into building a drifter a couple of weeks ago. The Kansas City drift scene has been building steam lately. I do the RC CAR CAST PODCAST with Aaron (evol) and Howard (Howler Customs) who have both built up one of these 3Racing Sukura D3's.

I placed an order with RCMart for the kit, Speed Passion brushless, wheels, and some upgrades.

Can't wait to see it painted! I have been looking at the chassis but I'm worried about how tough it is when it comes to hitting a wall or another car. I have a Vaterra v100 chassis I use for drifting currently and it's very strong and can take a beating but I am verry interested in the front mount motor set up. Keep us posted.

There are several here in KC running them already, I was confident in purchasing it. So far the only issue I have seen reported is bearing failure. I talked with Fast Eddy and he already put a bearing kit together. I received a couple of them last week to swap out.

What mm is that body? Also what offset did you use on it to fit the wheel wells properly?

I was hoping to see you building that Pikes rig usi g a Tamiya hard body. Now that would be sweet!

Did some drifting today! Used another body until I'm done with the semi and have a little more practice under my belt!

yea deff looks like it's got tons of grip a front one-way like above stated and some wide angle cvd. also I got some nontread tdrifts I love mine on carpet or hard surface. even got a friend to get one super fun man

edit guess you do have a one way lol. and what's your cs ratio now

Nice track. Looks narrow in some of the corners. Doesn't look like there is any room for side by side drifting. With that said I would still love to drive the track. Still waiting on the semi to be painted. Keep checking daily for pics. hurry up! Lol jk.

Yup, front one way is in. My CS ratio is 1.08. On the smooth concrete I really like that ratio but on this surface I would have liked to try something in the 1.2 range. I drove Evol's car which was setup at 1.7 and that was too much for me right now.

The narrow parts were some of the most fun. You have to have good lines to go through there following each other and that is quite the challenge. These lanes really aren't that narrow when you compare them to the really cool scale style tracks.

I'm hoping to work on the semi this week.

So is this track close to goat hill? I plan on making some goat hill events this summer and might bring the drifter if I could play there too.

im running like a 1.6X right now and love it on everything on polished stuff I need to work the throttle more but its a good balance for me

what tires you running

On the really tight stuff the 1.7 was cool but on the long open sweepers and straights I didn't care for it at all.

I was running some MST's and some ABS. On the RCP the ABS was much better.

I have been looking for a CS chassis to try this year. The drifters are slow enough for my eyes to follow and I have a smooth concrete driveway that I drift on now. Would you recommend the D3 kit for someone with limited vision to build? I want to take on the challenge of building another kit, but I have heard that the pulley's are a pain to assemble and the hardware is prone to stripping. I have built several kits in the past but have not tried one since losing most of my sight. I'd also like to thank you for your youtube videos; the amount of description that you give along with what you are showing makes it very enjoyable for me to listen to even though I may not be able to see clearly what is going on. For that same reason I look forward every week to the rccarcast too.
