When you guys buy the metal tubing to put on your custom links what exactly are you buying? And also where is it typically found. I tried 2 different auto parts stores and a hardware store. Haven't found any yet.

You are just looking for any tubing that had a ID slightly larger than the OD of your threaded rod. Brake line tubing is what most guys use.

1/4" brake line that is usually behind the counter! Fuel cell looks cool too. You will be amazed with that motor/esc setup, I have that same combo in my 1.9 wraith"thumbsup"

Finally found some aluminum tubing at Ace Hardware.

I'm having problems with the ESC, hopefully I can figure out what the deal is.

My werty made cage came today! Awesome piece of work this thing is. Very solid, and great fit.

Here's some pics with the orange body panels that I cut down to fit.

I have a really good fealing about the dynamic concepts jeep body fitting very well around this rear cage section without any cutting. I'll play around with it some tomorrow and get some pics up.


I'm still working on issues with the new motor and ESC. Hopefully all will be worked out once I get a castle link. Also need to tear down the transmission and see what's causing all this noise .

Had it out running for the past few days now. All the issues were worked out, mostly just newbie user error stuff. Runs awesome now. The Trailmaster Pro has great power on 3s, very happy with it. The wertymade cage has been taking a beating too.

I'm waiting on a package from RPP that has 2 gmade piggyback shocks, and a gearhead lowering kit. I'll run the gmades in the rear and for now I'll keep the wraith shocks up front with the lowering kit. Hopefully level out the ride height and make it a bit more stable with higher speed turns. I actually might even run some wider hexes too. I'll see how it handles once I add the lowering mounts.

Got some stuff today from RPP.
2 Gmade piggyback shocks, gear head lowering kit (only using front), and a tamiya driver.

I got the lowering kit set up already on the front. I'll snap some pics soon.

Ride height is so much better now. Sits level instead of looking like an accelerating boat, lol. I had to cut and grind the corners of my servo mount to clear the frame work. Also had to move the metal cross brace up to the shock mounting holes. Other than that it all went together pretty simple.

I had ordered 2 gmade piggybacks to try out. Doesn't look like it's going to work out well. A bunch of parts are missing from an unopened package. On top of that, I don't have much clearance to run a big bore shock. Especially one with a piggy back reservoir like that. The werty cage takes away some clearance in the back and the droop kit up front would make me have to use a pretty big spacer.

For now I'm just going to play around with different oils and springs in the axial shocks. Maybe I'll get the aluminum bodies for a little upgrade.

A while back I bought a Level 3 cms on ebay. What I didn't realize then is that I bought one that does not include a panhard mount.

So after looking for some solutions without buying a new CMS, I decided to make a bracket for a panhard to mount to.



I drew up a template that I can use to cut out a small piece of aluminum or even steel. I can shorten the spacer on the cms a little and mount it behind the front plate.

Something like this...

I cut out a piece with some super thin aluminum. Obviously I'll use something with more beef.

I think it came out pretty good. Hopefully it works well. I'll drill out the panhard mounting hole once I get the axle mount and then determine the panhard length which I'll make from threaded rod.

And a piece of scrap frame just to check fitment.

Nice work, I need to make a back panel for mine...the 2d spawn interior really leaves alot exposed.

Thanks! That back panel was such a simple thing to make, but it made a big difference in appearance I feel.

I did a few small aesthetic body mods today. I made up some inner wheel wells.

I made a battery tray, and some new hinges for the hood.

Move your shocks to the outside of the axle tabs. That'll give you more clearance for large diameter shocks.

Just some picture updates. I tried fitting the dynamic concepts jeep body back on the wraith with the Werty made cage. To my surprise it fit very well. The werty cage is just about the same length as the original framework.

This body and cage make for a very unique look that I am very happy with.

I made a cloth roof and did some detail painting today also.

I got some MIP shafts yesterday. The back went on fairly easy, I had to lengthen the wheel base a little.

The front is a no go. It's too long. And I don't want to extend my wheel base the length I would need to. Exploring options to shorten it. Any ideas are welcome.

I believe MIP makes a set of shorter shafts for the SCX10. Pretty sure if you sent them the length measurements you need they could fab one up for you as well.

I had to take one of my wraith mip's and grind about 3/8 of an inch off either end. Don't believe that would work for you tho, seems like it wouldn't leave enough of the splines to remain strong.
