DT's WranglAR - Just another Jeep

What a great group photo...reminds me of an alien invasion for some reason!!!!!

Looking good"thumbsup"

Geez DT, thats some carnage there"thumbsup"

Thanks guys! Bill, I have another body on the way, as well as another grill ordered. When I get it done, it will be for the trails only and the current body will be for messing around on the hill. I won't be putting $200+ dollars of body + lights up that hill climb again... lol

Dang hard landing. Seeing you Knight grill pop like a toothpick scares me and what could happen to my grill.

Don't roll it off of a hill climb with velcro body mounts instead of body pins, having a 10lb rig bounce off of the grill repeatedly after the body fell off while it tumbled down, and you will probably be ok.

I have a beater 1.9 truck to send up the hill now. I need to get the new body painted and grill setup soon, They are collecting dust in my workshop.

Great build and thread. Thanks for all the pics and inspiration. I'm one step closer to swapping my AR60s into my JKU. I have to ask. With all the parts, money, and time put into building your rig strong with mips, beef tubes, HD gears, etc. why didn't you put more into the trans? You went with steel internals and mips but kept the flat spot style outputs with grub screws instead of HD outputs with through pin screws. Just wondering because I've seen this more than once.

I had all the trans stuff already, migrated from rig to rig over the years without failure. My outputs are hardened steel, not stock axial. They are just old school type from back when AX10's were fairly new.

Hey what's that vendor that sells the plates you told me about, man? Need to order them up so I can get my rig going.

Are you talking about Tod Bldz's Wroncho plates? I have a set and they are awesome!

He's in the vendor section. Really cool guy to deal with. I originally got these for a Wroncho build then the SSD D60s came out. I ended up using these anyway because they are great for anti squat and dialing in pinion angle perfectly. These plates are incredibly versatile and very nice quality. I'll just get another set for my future Wroncho build because they're so nice.

how do those work out for mounting the upper links? That's the issue I'm having with my Wroncho build....need a place to mount the upper link to the frame rails/chassis. They look amazing, though!

All of those holes in the plates are places to mount your upper links. Raising the mounting location at the chassis this way makes them clear the driveshafts and gives better suspension geometry at the same time. Plus you can move the upper link mounts forward or backward to dial in pinion angle as well. Let me get a pic up to help explain. There are also pics in his thread in the vendor section.

Ok, here's a pic showing both front upper link mounts. You can see how they now run parallel to the lower links and stay above the driveshaft the entire length. Anti squat is also dramatically improved on climbing and descending. You can also rotate the axle by moving the upper link mounts forward or backward letting you achieve an ideal pinion angle.
