RC4WD Gelande II D110 Truck Kit w/Hard Body build/review

I wanted to stop in and show the progress I made with the rear ladder on my build... I cut the ladder off at the mounts and removed enough of the ladder to clear the tire mount and then brazed it back together..

I'm waiting on some scale bolts and then I'll remove and paint "thumbsup"

Damn thats a nice rig you got there
Whered you get that saddle bag on your spare that looks so cool

I think i have a bit of a problem with my tire i want to use lol

I have to lift this thing up a bit
How do i go about lif5ing this up?
Is it just the shocks?

Ohhhhh thats a good idea
And put 8t back when i have a proline powerstroke shocks
Im thinking of going 90mm or should i go 100mm?
This rig is really heavy and i dont even have the sliders on the side yet

Recently made an order for those landies wheels from rcbitz
Couldnt find any in the states
Next to order are prolines powerstroke shocks

Lol were the same
But i have a good excuse for it
I have a what ya call adhd or add hehehehe

I have what you call being lazy lol.

Going a different route with the build. Going to make the sides of the body out of balsa wood sheeting and shave that down as opposed to the full pine sheet. All I need is money now.

As for a chassis update on my rig, I've installed new links, driveshafts, a cms kit, a new transmission case, and I'm about to get an order in for a Panhard bar and a stage one Vanquish kit. I'm also thinking about getting the new ax10 ssd axle cases that look like the Dana 60, and also plan on getting a leaf kit conversion. Mainly for the scale appearance.

All I need is to win the jackpot lottery and then I can finally start on this lol. I need a better (or a second) job.....

Balsa? Wouldnt that be to weak for the body?
Imagine a rollover?

And my mistake is
1.55 landies wheels for the 1.55 growler tires
Its damn to big fornmy rig

It'll be multiple layers of balsa, up to 5 layers. If it gets torn apart so what. Call them battle scars haha:flipoff:

Yeah, the D110 doesn't work well with large tires. 1.55s or 1.7s are both good replacements though. I'm thinking about getting the RC4WD beadlock for their tamiya semi rims and installing their 4.19" iroks so it's still scale but I will get a little bit of tire oomph from the 4.19s

Saw you were having trouble installing the RCModelex front bumper... Had the same problem (and also confirmation from Martin that it would fit RC4WD chassis, which it does not directly).

Here's my D90 with it installed:

I filled the gaps with some scrap plastic parts and just used 4 bolts to keep it in place (it does wiggle a little (not sideways) but does not bother me).

Kinda bugs me too since this cost 80$ instead of 60$ for the RC4WD versio which IMO looks a bit better but was out of stock everywhere when I needed mine. Still, I've got tons of lovely stuff from RCModelex and love the shop and it's products.

Those bumpers are to heavy for my taste
Solid metal =heavy
Its quivalent to two arb bumpers
Ill stay away from any rcmodelex metals

Long way more to go with this rig
No electronics yet
I think ill install those windows now?
Or should i work on interior before those windows?
The windows might get on the way when im doing the interior later on

With the 1.55 growler tires
Im getting bored with this build :D
Wanna start a new one to slowly upgrade
Next rc4wd tf2 rtr
Want something i can drive around right away
And upgrade anything thatll break

You realize you've got two front bumpers on there, right? You could clean up the look a ton by getting rid of the smaller original one and just using the ARB one. "thumbsup"

Aye yes sir
The reason i have that old bumper in there
Is that the arb bumper for some reason touches the grill
So i left the old bumper as a shim so it will not be to close

Why not buy the kit? The RTR isn't as good as the kit is, like many other RC cars....

I've decided to build a pro mod monster truck myself. Based off of the Ground Pounder, it'll have yellow rims, a black chassis, and a yellow body with lightening bolts and I'm going to call it "Thunder Chicken".

Embrace the craziness lol

Brazed it back together?
Let me get this straight
You cut the ladder made it a bit narrow so itll clear the spare tire and then you blazed it?
What do you mean you blazed it?
I want to do that to my ladder i think
