Knockoff vanquish methods on ebay???

i think 4/40 is smaller than m3

4-40 and M3 are nearly identical in diameter, obviously the threads are different with the M3 being the finer of the two.

if those are M3 (instead of 4-40 like SLW) just use some m3 scale bolts, (instead of scale lugs) they will look the part close enough. especially on the smaller 1.9s"thumbsup"

I love most of the VP stuff I run since it is generally better designed than the factory piece it replaces but their wheels are not something I'm going to buy. Yes they're awesome but I beat my rigs too hard to justify the expenditure. If I was one of the schmuck that assemble $2500 rigs and put them on a shelf then yea, I'd have a set of every wheel they make. But I build drivers so cheap knockoffs are the way to go for me.:D

The trucks that I have VP wheels on, is the trucks i abuse the most, why buy bulletproof wheels and not enjoy the luxuary of knowing the wheels will defenatly not break. For a shelf queen chineese stuff is good enoughf, its usually shinier to. Hey, if its staying on a shelf you really dont need any drivetrain parts or electronics eather.

Vanquish makes exquisite stuff and the quality is 120%, you definetly get what you pay for.

You can tell these are cheap knockoffs, quality is lacking but fit is good.

I just didnt have 200 to spend on some quality wheels i had a 50 budget and could get plastic, or rc4wd stamped or try these

Most of rc4wd's stuff comes from china anyhow so really the difference is nill there. I agree with trying to support the originator of something and buying quality if its something that you really need to depend on (1:1 safety parts etc) but for a toy truck that has parts that come from all over the globe why should you spend more on wheels/tires on it than the car your driving to work in.

I will continue to support companies that have good customer service and are actually there when you need them. If that means paying more, I'll gladly do it.

Got mine in today, initial impressions are pretty good.

The hubs:
350's as near as I can tell, and ARE fully compatible with other slw wheels. I mounted them to a set of locked up rc wheels and some ci 6 bolts. They use M3 hardware, which I am a fan of, it causes no issue on aluminum slw wheels.

The wheels:

The anodizing on the front rings is comically thin, but overall it is even and looks good. The clamp rings fit well on the wheels and in general I'm not seeing any strange machine marks or other errors. Also there is no engraving on the face.

I tried to mount a set of flatiron xl's with zero success, I expected this though.

Overall:
Fine wheels for a fair price, if it comes down to a set of axial plastic 1.9s or these, I'd grab these. Proline tires probably won't work, and if you have the cash for real vanquish wheels, I'm sure they are a ton nicer.

Any questions, fire away

I just pulled the trigger and ordered a set. I was going to run axial plastic beadlocks but these are about the same price.

I just ordered a set last night. We shall see!

So, what about the tires you tried to mount didn't work out MattTheGenius?

Or instead of buying crap, support someone who supports our community and drop an extra $30-$40 on some ssd wheels

There is a place in the market for parts of every quality and price. Judging a part without ever touching it yourself makes you look like a moron.

And buying parts that are rip offs and clearly breaking patent laws makes you what?
Better get these piece of shit scam artist products before gone. Won't be available for much longer.
