Questions for Gun Control Advocates

For the sake of argument are there no private sellers at gun shows? and if so what are the private sellers legal obligation?

There are few restrictions on private sales and vary from state to state.


Personally, when I sale a firearm to someone, I require a bill of sale which lists the serial number of the firearms I am selling and a copy of their CCW.

This way I have record of the sale, the serial number and the contact information of the buyer.

I'm so glad I live in a country where we don't need to have/carry a gun for self protection.
Or have to worry about the road rage idiots pulling out a hand gun.
Gun control seems to work here, we don't have the regular mass shootings you guys are cursed with.
And there are plenty of happy gun owners here. Club shooters, farm owners and even a few hunters.

Chicago is a great example of gun control working.

What we do not have is: children accidentally shooting themselves, children accidentally shooting others, assholes with roadrage shooting people, drunkards shooting people, violent husbands shooting their wives, stupid neighbors shooting eachother, dumb asses with accidental discharge... you know, all the crap the rest of the country has.

Sounds like you're happy with the current murder & violent crime rate in your area. Good, you can keep it and I'll keep the rarity that is accidental gun death in my area.

Without looking up the stats I'd wager that there is more gun related shootings and death in your area than accidental shootings in the whole country in one calendar year. Chicago lawmakers are so smart and so brave to take a stand. "thumbsup"

I heard today that 40% of gun sales are private and therefore unregulated..I don't know how accurate that # is but seems like a lot.

It's those things that make life exciting! I've got something to say about road rage. I drive a tractor-trailer for a living. One day, some asshole pulled a gun on a co-worker at 78 mph on an interstate because he felt that he was cut off. My co-worker was only on the job for a few months and did nothing for fear of losing his job. However, I will not hesitate for a second to grease some asshole who pulls a piece on me...be it in my rig, in my car, at a store, or even at my front door.

I am sure King Obama will do all he can and say it was..... The weather, the gun, workplace accident, George Bush did it, libertarians, tea party, NRA members, republicans, white people, non gays, someone who uses words that are mean, etc than call it a muslim terrorist because the truth does not play into his agenda. ALL firearm sales at ALL gun shows from a dealer regardless of if its at a gun show or retail location require you to pass an ATF 4473 back ground check.

So what exactly are you saying?

I can walk into a gun show and purchase a machine gun?

If that the case, you should educate yourself and stop listening to the media talking points.

There is no such thing as the "Gun show loophole".

Yes there is. You do not always have to be a licenced dealer to sell guns at a gun show. You can be a "collector" and set up a booth to buy, sell, and trade without a dealers licence. No background check required. Or, you can arrange a deal set at a later date, no background check required.

As far as i know most soldiers on military bases are unarmed or if they are armed they dont carry a loaded weapon. Makes perfect sense, train soldiers to be the best armed and trained in the world then take away their weapon while on base. :shock:

Oh and I've never seen chaps that cover the wearer's ass. Just sayin'...

I don't get caught up or follow political bs that much and I am not a gun owner.

But how I see it. If it were possible to take every gun away, the people who want to harm others will just find the next thing to do it, like Bombs, driving cars into a crowds. There is other ways to do great bodily harm other than guns.

Its a tough line on guns. If someone in the crowd in San Bernardino had a permit to carry a gun then there might only be 4 dead instead of 14. That one law abiding gun owner might just save your life if the times comes and that's a chance Im willing to take.

Also 30 people a day die from guns, but 100 die a day from car accidents. Why is the government trying to get cars banned.

Civilian so don't quite me on this - but I think if you're off duty you don't. If you're on and have a reason you do, some of the special forces guys do, and the MP's definitely do. I guess the point is, if you were thinking logically that's not the first group of dudes you would attack if you wanted to walk away.

Fact is there are more guns in this country than people.

Fact is of those guns less than .0001% are used to commit crime any given day.

Facts are neat.



I'll take my chances with an armed concealed carry license holder over my cell phone any day.
