hey guys

just recently started getting back into scale builds, few years back i had a highlift, fully loaded with MFCU and all that. sold it and was out of the game for a while

untill recently

after some research i settled on a RTR Vaterra Bronco, loved the truck and it was awesome to get back into the hobby, i have a 7yr old buddy that runs it with me. and so i naturally needed another truck so we can run the course im building in the back yard.

i love old fords so i bought another ascender kit
built this one more to my liking

list of parts
Vaterra kit
Spektrum DX4R pro radio
Vanquish 1.9 OMF beadlocks
RC4WD 1.9 Super swampers
crawler invovations lil nova foam inserts
Savox sw-0231MG steering servo
Tekin FXR 30 turn handwound motor ESC combo

team KNK stainless hardware kit
Locked up scale hardware for OMF wheels
SSD aluminum wintch bumper
RC4WD 1.9 winch with wireless controller

Both your Ascenders are looking good, keep us updated! :) I like the Ford pickup body too, we need more good looking pickup bodies to fit this.

Thanks man

added a small vanquish light bar tonight
fabricated a mount out of aluminum and it turned out pretty good

more lights to come

What I found with the Kings,
I changed out the lower mounts to some plastic ones. The reason being, they would not flex enough sideways to allow the truck to articulate, after doing that they work great. A bit soft but pretty good

So I broke down and bought most of the aluminum chassis upgrades, front knuckles rear as well. Brass rotor weights, alum lower links, also working on a grill and light buckets

Wow dude, nice upgrades with all the Vaterra knuckles, c-hubs, rear bearing retainers and brake rotor! Grill and headlight buckets are off to a great start too!

I am not sure if I have something hooked up wrong, but, the KING shocks for me didn't work well at all. I went back to the stock shocks. May end up getting the Vaterra upgraded shocks. I put the plastic end on the bottom of my shocks too. Didn't get much articulation at all. Glad they are working for ya."thumbsup"

That's strange
Mine have a lot of articulation, however the ends it put on were pretty slim and long and cleared the mount well

?
I've heard good things about the vaterra aluminum. I will probably get a pair for the bronco

I may have had something hooked up wrong. I was in a hurry putting em on. I sort of have buyers remorse. I really don't need the shocks. Stock ones are fine for me. I was just going for full scale. I have a set of GMade Scale Shocks as well, But, they are too short.

More mockup work, this is my test body. I will paint up another body for the final mounting, more to come

Also put some locked up scale bolts on my VP OMF's

Awesome

X2 lights and grill are looking great, LockedUpRC scale hardware really adds to those wheels/tires combo too!
