any update on the HV500 delivery date?
They didn't get shipped before chinese new year, so they will ship after. So 4th week of this month is the likely arrival date.
Bmuzz got first blood! Sheared a pin, it shattered actually. Nothing else hurt.
Broke a tooth off the main gear from a pretty hard roll
After running my HV500 for about 3 weeks , Comping. Mine started acting wonky, Not wanting to center. Just generally shitting the bed when in a bind my 7950 would steer out of with ease..
I messaged John about it, Got a very generic reply after about a week of waiting, Just said f-it and put a 7950 back in, and the HV500 will be sitting in a box.. Its a shame too, Because I tell people all the time to buy HH, This is one I have trouble recommending tho.
The biggest issue I had with it was it did not know where center was, Sometimes it was here, Sometimes it was a there.
hv 500 died on first run..... started out great but as the time went on it got weaker and acting funny till 2hours into the run it stopped working... walking of the trail never make me happy
Had my first carnage on the servo. A little over 2 hours of creek crawling and the bearing on the output self-destructed and sent little balls into the gears. Amazingly, the gears don't seem to bad but it needs a new bearing. Holmes has been contacted. Still had a blast and can't wait to get this torque monster back in the Wraith.
From what I'm reading, it sounds like 5 different issues. Is the $99 500oz servo too good to be true?
They haven't shipped yet. I'll update when they do.
Seems like HH is waiting, just like us. [emoji106]These ever coming back?
Hitec has set a very high bar for customer support. We tear them up, send them in, they fix and return them, no questions asked (mostly).
As these HH servos get very numerous in the field, failures will occur and we'll just have to see how they're dealt with. I'm sure intentions are very high and current HH reputation is stellar. But we'll have to see how reality matches up in the near future. Seems a tough business to me.
I'll be testing this all summer!! Hope it holds up better than the 400, if it does, it will clearly be "the" servo!
Sadly that is not the case, While its a fine servo, The issues I'm having ( never wanting to center, Not having a clue WHERE center even is ).. Then seeing others with broken gears.. Its clear more work is needed.
7950 still outperforms by a wide margin.
Not ever getting a reply about my broken one either really puts me off. I love Holmes Hobbies and all, But this will likely be the last servo I buy from them.
