Roof rack, was it hardest part of the build for anyone else?

I don't know why but it was a major pain to get screws started when it involved the roof rack. I had to run screws thru backwards on the little strips o--o--o clean the end then fight to run them in the right way

Yeh it was a pain for me too. I ended up putting them through while out of the shell then the fight was a little easier when actually putting it on but still tough.

Yeah I pre-screwed them outside the shell first, it made it much easier to start. Also using a power screwdriver helps.

Five of six screws went in fine. For some reason the middle-right screw wouldn't seat to save its life.

the hardest part for it is the 4 links. it's difficult to get the lengths identical.

Those took me forever to set correctly. I probably spent a full hour getting the measurements close to correct for two stubborn links.

Just installed the JCR rack on my RTR last night. I was careful to pre-drill holes in the right spot and pre-thread the screws into the 0---0---0. I still had issues. In the end, I only have 4 of the 6 in properly. I ended up dabbing crazy glue gel around the screw ends on the the inside.

I did the pre-thread from the back/flat side of the inside piece to get the threads in the correct orientation. It pushed some plastic out of the hole, but I cleaned that up with the ex-acto after I backed the screws out. The threads being there beforehand & in the right orientation meant smooth struggle free assembly on the body.

yeah it was a pain, i eventually on one side i ended up using lock nuts cause i couldn't get the strip that was suppose to be there to work.

The big front piece of the roof rack on my build didn't have screw holes started, so I had to drill my own first. That really sucked

One side of mine had a dimple and that was it. Still trying to figure out how to get rid of the sagginess of the interior mounts.
