Very Gymkhana like but I'll watch it all day long. Can't believe they're letting the Viper die off though...
I can believe it. I rarely see Vipers. Even in their hay day I would rarely see them. You see Vettes on the road almost every time you get into your car. Sales, unfortunately, talk.Very Gymkhana like but I'll watch it all day long. Can't believe they're letting the Viper die off though...
Vipers seemed pointless? :shock:That didn't sell me either one. And I'm a Pennzoil guy. Seemed pointless really.

Are you a car guy? If so, what does sell you?

15 sec Hondas.
White or fried rice?
I dig the Demon also, it's cool, I get it. But it's not the fastest production car ever built, not in the 1/4 mile, and not 0-60mph. It is the current fastest in the 1/4 mile.
A slushbox? They are going the way of the dinosaur for a reason. Computers shift faster than humans! :mrgreen:I've always loved the Viper. Mostly due to it being somewhat the successor of my favorite car of all time, even had the man himself involved in the original design.

Neither would make my short list though, even if I had the money. I'll take an older GT3 RS with an actual gear box and third pedal please.
Viper owners should hold onto theirs for 20 years or so. The value is probably going to go up.I agree, sales dictate but dealers also aren't trying to get rid of brand new 14, 15, or 16 models that haven't sold. IMO, limited production kept the sales low in comparison to the Corvette. Then again, Corvettes start at $55K whereas the Viper started $87K. The price alone typically puts it out of reach of most consumers looking to splurge.
didnt watch the vid, buy theyre prolly just promoting brand equity. some corporate dick or spoiled ad guy saw a hoon video and they copied it.That didn't sell me either one. And I'm a Pennzoil guy. Seemed pointless really.
surprised as well. it is not the fastest and is a pretty easy claim to talk shit on for all the dodge haters. i would assume somebody at dodge would think the same and pull that claim back a bit.haha glad to know im not the only one that bugged.
every time they kept calling it the fastest production car i would cringe. knowing its the quickest production car. there is a big difference in the two.
i believe the Chiron or the Hennessey Venom holds the fastest production car title.
Mobil 1 is too thin and leaks out of everywhere.
Went to (German) Castrol, it's green colored. Too thick.
Regular dino Pennzoil. Works and lasts.

I call manuals slushboxes. Yes, that phrase was coined for the old, power eating automatics. But these days, automatics are pretty damn good and most are better performing than a bad driver with a manual.Slushboxes are old school autos, not manual transmissions. Manuals are going the way of the dinosaur not because they're slower, but because we've become lazy as shit as a society so nobody buys them, and autos don't hold up mileage wise as long, so the car manufacturers make more money from you in the long run.
It's not always about what's fastest either. For some of us, it's just about the mechanical interaction with the vehicle. The enjoyment of rowing through a gearbox, or a well done heel / toe shift coming into a corner. Those things will never be replaced with flappy paddles.
I don't own sports cars anymore, but it makes me sad to see manual gearboxes slowly dying off.
