2017 Scale Rules

What constitutes hand formed and fabricated to get custom body points. Is this only referring to scratch built bodies? Can part of the exterior be scratch built? Just trying yo figure out what kind of points I will get for the body I'm building.

Correct, it has to be completely scratch built. If you take an existing hardbody and modify it, you will not get custom points.

But what about a scratch built drop bed from an entierly different vehicle. What I have done is lengthen the hood and narrowed the grill using 2 wrangler bodies I shortened the tub behind the front seats and closed in the back to form a cab and scratch built a 47 willys pickup bed for it. I am hoping I can at least get drop bed points but have been told probably not

Custom body points need to be 100% custom built from scratch. Modified bodies will not receive the additional 4 points.

Drop bed points are available to modified or custom built beds. If it meets the dimentions and criteria for drop bed you will get points

Do you have a picture of the bed ?

I do not finished but I will post soon just don't under stand why you can get-2 for a scratch built cab and no points for a acratch built bed

For some reason I can't post a pic no biggie though just trying to gain understanding it's what I want and within the rules so just going to run with it not disagreeing with the rules just trying to gain a better understanding actually I like the revisions this year and hoping to see C0 added next year

Are you sure?

the rules say:

• Truggies are not allowed, flatbeds with full length rail chassis are allowed. The bed must be as wide as the cab the entire length of the bed. Cab only not allowed

I seem to remember a similar question in the past ..
with negative results</pre>

I'd count that as a dovetail so legal in C2.

C1 never. Unless dovetailing is now legal in C1.

I don't consider that a dovetail and it would garner no real advantage with that short of angle.

Other than the shocks through the bed, this would be the same.

This is the flatbed I'm referring to. Is this class 1,2 or 3? help?

looks to me like you could cut the doved section off and it would still be legal length for c1. (or damn close) so, as long as the flatbed is straight with the cab to that point i dont see why you cant have anything past that be anything you want.

does that make sense? does to me..

That in my thinking is not anywhere near a dovetail. Looks like a design feature so it's not just square and boring flatbed.

Question, so say I have a styrene body, it is vacuum formed but is around .030 thick, I was looking into vinyl wrapping it instead of painting it. If the vinyl puts it over .060 and it is styrene, does that give me hard body points still? Not trying to cheat or bend rules just really like this body and would like to get the points since it is technically a hard body.

Sorry, the whole body has to be .060 styrene to get hardbody points.

I have a question concerning tube a flatbed - can the deck/floor of the flatbed be mesh? Or would that classify it as a truggy?

One driver asks if they can install the metal sliders on its Twin Hammers C3 with rigid body :

Example installation sliders (in Yellow color):

This solution is legal and right to 3 scaler points?

Thanks for your answer "thumbsup"

Sliders can be mounted to a hardbody or chassis, either way will receive points. Lexan bodies require chassis mounted sliders for points

ok after reading thru here i see that the dinky honcho interior was given the thumbs up...

what about the dinky mojave interior and the bruiser interior it is modeled after ?

is this cover or full interior like the honcho one ?

Hi Guy!

First question.

Can the driver change the tires before second heats?

Second question.

About Boundary Marker.
The 10 point are gived if vehicle touches a bounadry marker.
But, if a vehicle during a rollover "jump" the bounadry marker
without touch it? There are a penalty points for "off of track",
Or the driver can bypass the bounadry and back on course
without penalty?

thanks for answers!

is it possible to have a tube bed AND a drop bed? meaning if i 'tube-out' my drop bed can i also pull tube bed points?

doesnt say in the rules its either one or the other.
