1/24 carisma??????

Find any specs on it yet? looked around but haven't found anything.

Looks pretty slick though. Rock sliders come stock, and looks like metal driveshafts to.

Saw these the other day, they definitely look like they are based on the ECX Barrage/FTX Outback/RGT Outlander platform. I'm not a fan of the way they changed thechassis or tires, the axle housings look similar with the sharp edges removed which should help it from getting stuck. the bodies are nice as well. hopefully the electronics are decent, but IMO this needs to stay under $100 to be worth it. the tires in the chassis alone already make the predecessors a better deal for $100 and I have a feeling this will be more expensive as well

That heat sink and the mention of the "dedicated power source" make me think it's the same electronics and highly geared axle as the Barrage/FTX/RGT, they are just advertising it for FPV. Hopefully it surprises me and is affordable because that chassis with the same crap electronics would be very disappointing

Did anyone pick up one of these Carismas?

Scale isn't a huge thing to me, I'm just as happy with the body off just trying to get through some technical climbing.... pillows.

I picked up a Carisma Subaru even though I have my doubts on their claims about different gearing. It's already otw and will hopefully get here in the next few weeks from china.

I also pre ordered one of these Hobby Plus CR-24s in October, however Asia Tee's has pushed the date back a few times. It finally shows off pre order and in stock as of 2 days ago, yet my pre order hasn't shipped yet so I doubt it's actually in stock.

Once these arrive I'll compare them to the ECX Barrage/FTX Outback/RGT Adventurer, RC4WD Mini Gelande, Proline Ambush, & ECX Temper. I'll then update my old post comparing the Sumo crawler to the Losi Micro & trekker and list all compatible parts and plenty of nerd specs

Which of those did you like best out of the box?

When I got my Losi it was just charge->go, but the reviews for lots of the current models sound either “geared for speed, not crawling” or “not enough torque.”

I wish the Ambush was still for sale.

Finally arrived. I'll be home soon and should have some more pictures comparing it to the ECX Barrage/FTX Adventurer/RGT Outback and the Hobby Plus CR-24 & D1RC

Isn't Carisma based or more popular in Australia? That would explain the Subaru Brat. It was huge there. I don't usually keep running the stock bodies and thought this would be something different from the coyote pickup at least.

I still have a feeling I will like the hobby plus better especially for the price difference. But I will be open-minded about it

Hmm.... Initial impressions.... Why the hell is this thing $30 more expensive instead of $30 less expensive?

Ugly wheels (1.0" size like Losi)
Very Ugly axles.
Ugly HARD compound tires
Still don't like that weird chassis,
The radio feels as cheap as a $60 RC, though not flimsy. yet the $80 Hobby Plus radio looks and feels MUCH better
The springs are just as soft, but the shocks aren't as smooth as the Hobby Plus.
Surprisingly the wheelbase is a hair longer.

I will say the plastic is MUCH MUCH better, but at this scale it's almost unnecessary.
It does come with a NIMH and AA's for the transmitter.

The power switch for some reason is burried in between the front links. If you have fingers fatter than mine you'll need a tool to reach.

I can't get an impression on how it runs because the slipper is completely loose meaning I have to take it apart right away.

Maybe I'm being critical, but
I don't understand how they got so much on this wrong..

Oh well, time to take a brand new crawler apart so I can fix it....

Well I took the MSA-1E apart. The motor screws were loose and causing the slipping. Made sure everything was tightened up and rolled freely. Reassembled and now it's binding somewhere. I give up for tonight. It's been a long day.
I'm trying to decide if I should return this and get another CR-24, or do I give it a chance and see where it goes

I just saw these pop up on RPP, and I saw them back at the RPP Jamboree where one of the booths was showing off these Carisma 1/24's and I was shown a quick demo (I thought he would let me drive but no) and it had 2 speeds (looks like 3 now) which to me said on off switch, not proportional. So I'm still curuois to hear whether its got proportional steering and throttle or not.

Cool looking rigs at least, but pretty expensive for what it is.

I was looking at these to pair with my Pro-line Ambush so that I can drive around indoors with my son.

I've since ordered a WPL C14 and C24 instead, while planning on selling my Pro-Line Ambush. I think I'll have more fun tinkering with the WPLs trying to get them to work.
