So I've watched a you tube video and the guy had a truck and fitted a kinetic rope. He ran it from the c frame on the left front, to the back where there was 2 pulleys so things would run smooth, and then down to the front exciting through the bumper. It had mild tension with a grapple style hook at the bumper, so when it was pulled out it could attach and then help the truck up inclines over obstacles etc. Superb idea but I can for the life of me find a clear route to do this on my venture, scx10ii or trx4, anybody else got this set up? And how did you do it?

Use a drinking straw as a guide to get past wiring, spur gear, and anything else that could fray or damage a winch line

Not sure what size guys are using to make these lines. But "back in the day" I would use PTFE tube to route the line where you need to. But the straw idea is great and cheap

I was also thinking about this after watching Joe's video. Wouldn't work for my truggy, but maybe the dingo. I used 1/8" bungee cord from Amazon to make the strap and bent my own hook from 1/8"steel rod. I was thinking about using straws to route it like Mike said. I've made 3 of these kinetic straps and still have plenty of product left over for more for under $20. Here's a pic

I was pretty dismissive of them until I saw my crawlin' buddy Miatardo use his on his TRX-4 Bronco as well as on his son's Ascender F100.

They're simple, work well, and (best of all) are super-cheap..."thumbsup"

I tried a simple retractable badge holder. Free from work - if you use badges or ID's just ask HR for another. Works great! It's amazing what just a little tiny bit of spring tension on a line can do to help. Used zip ties to hold to chassis. Can see my camo extension rope on bumper. 2nd pic shows it actually holds a controller with batteries.

This is the one I made for my 10III JLU. I made a pulley and mounting plate that screws to the extra body post mounts. I ran the line from the front drivers side post mount, around the pulley, and out the front between the tranny and frame. I made the guide, and cut the body a little to finish it all off.

Nice! Looks great!"thumbsup"

I'm looking to add one to my JLU and my JT.

Did you make the fairlead?

Oh, and Ohio no longer requires us to run front plates!:) Ditched mine the first day we were legal to run without one!:lmao:

Not trying to be smart/funny just making sure I am getting this right - is a 'kinetic rope' the same thing as a bungie cord? Just a real thin one? I have some of those, if I can find one long enough I may try to rig up something.
