What did you do today?

Yeah looking at the 3 pics at once makes me realize correlating the colors would've helped. Both purple and orange are what I need basically. I did get a reply back and the man said thanks for the photos as they should help.

Slept in till 10 ish or so. No coffee at the house, so Bear and I jumped on the onewheel, jamming out on the way to Starbucks to tunes. Some 5',14" punk mouths off to me inside about my 🐕 and nearly loses his teeth in tge store, but this old couple diffused the situation with asking what breed my baby was. Got a coffee and pup cup. Pup ate cup and we
left, I and spilled my coffee within 3 sips, just to get another for free after telling the barista I'm a doofus. Really, nice lady!
Then, we went home relaxed a bit, I had a smoke, later one i went to HD and got one of those work tables that's adjustable with 2 drawrz. While working on nothing of value i slice the shit out of my index finger.20250619_143719.jpg
Quick gander tells me, its stitches. A $77 copay and a few hours later, and I'm superglued back together and have a finger brace to keep it straight. I don't like needles. This would have required multiple new hole insertions, NOT COOL, hard pass!

Looks deep! I think I shared my cut in here a few months ago. My fix was ointment and a bandage, then electrical tape to seal the bandage on through the work shift but it also acted as a semi splint to remind myself not to bend it. Kept changing it few times a day and a couple weeks later there's barely a scar. Mind you, I'd shower with it sealed still but afterwards was when I'd air it out then bandage/tape it up again when I'd sleep.

Oh, t'was. Is actually really deep to the tendon, almost. I felt no pain while it happened, after the cut, on the drive to the ER, or after pulling off the rag. (I have to take nerve pain meds) but it required stitches. However, this (glue) was an option, and (so) I refused more holes to numb up or close up an existing one.

Lots of work outside today. moved fencing to make the bird yard a bit larger. not much but it'll give them a bit more room and put up a couple actual gates to use, mostly for the LP guy when he has to fill.

Got the majority of the sand pile moved and cleared out. stil lhave some to go, so tomorrow I get to start putting the rest of my steps to get down into the mechanical room in. Might fence in the 'garden area' even though we didn't plant much into it this year.

Got the bog filter finished setup and running for the duck pool. Seems to be working pretty well. Did put some shock into the water to help clear it up fast, which it did. now to let it start filtering and see how well it works.I may end up redoing it though and this time putting some peet down on top of the larger rocks at the bottom, then the gravel, topped with pea gravel. Peet would slow down the flow a bit but would be a great filterand clean outs would be a breeze also. Might do that after a few weeks of this running to see how it does.

Yesterday after work I spent a little time setting up the Soundcraft and getting it working (need a new mic for sure).
Today I modded one of the boom arms to hold the other ECam S600 for a top down view that is more stable.
So There is the angled down view which is what most of my previous vids are from. Once in a while I have the cam on the laptop for a view of me. One ECam on a side view, and the other on the top down view.
Once I get a more suitable mic for this use, it will be good to go I think at least in terms of a Recording/Podcast station.
Still want to get something dedicated for mobile recording besides my phone.

Did some 1:1 wrenching for once; replaced the fan clutch on the FJ. Drove around a little and seemed fixed especially at idle for longer periods of time. Passed smog with flying colors at 487k miles. Then I take a drive 30 minutes out, and once I start hitting traffic lights the temp slowly started to move higher.

Now I'll be replacing the water pump (bit more work than just the fan clutch), but "while I'm in there" I'll also be replacing the thermostat and the serpentine belt. What sucks is I was looking forward to attend a meet that's a 3hr drive and being that it's next Saturday I don't think I'll be going.

So, instead of steps to the mechanical room. I tried to chill and sweat as little as possible. 98F and 85%+ humidity.
Good day to do as little as possible.

we're not far off those temps last few days and for the next few also 🥵 Took out a rig early yesterday to avoid the heat, only to strip a spur gear 20 minutes in 🤬

ps: linky for yer YT channel?

Mornings here aren't brutally hot but they are brutally humid... Then as the sun gets higher, the humidity drops but the temps go way up. I'm at the point that I'd rather wait until later to do the tough stuff outside if I can.... it'll be hot as hell but at least it's without that early-day humidity. It's gonna be miserable either way but I'll take mine with less swamp-ass.

After the trail run this morning. We noticed that another big pine tree was starting to lean towards 2 STR4's. 1 was hit by the last tree that fell. Good thing it was the parts car. Went back to my house loaded up 1 4wheeler, chain, impact gun, 4 way lug wrench and the air compressor.
Spent the better part of the day moving those 2 out of the way. 4wheeler had some old gas and wasn't running the greatest. Got home drained the tank but can't get ethanol free gas til tomorrow. So the battery is out getting a charge while waiting on fresh gas.

Mowed some weeds till the whacker ran out of string, then I moved on to the hedge trimmers, and used those. I'm guessing about 10K sq feet till I got tired of it. Thick base, prickers, with the fuzzy floaty things and are hollow like a tube. 20250622_143751.jpg
Moved an abandoned vehicle around a bit on the property to get it ready and chop it up and bury it and scrap the motor/tranny. 20250622_150707.jpg also found a new way to change both tires on one side of your vehicle, and how to rip your "20K" tow strap.
