how are you guys cutting your foams for the mud and some trail use. btw i have mk2's.

I just make it in a star shape with about 20-30 triangles in the foam (pointy edge out) leaving about 1/2 to 3/4 of the foam still intact so as not to cut the foam all the way through..

i have all-t's and use slightly smaller foams that are uncut. This leaves some space between the tire and foam that spreads the tread out a little allowing for good floatation. It also grips real well in mud but doesn't clean too well (not enough wheel speed).

Like was said before, depends on the tire and the wieght of the rig. I use craft beads since they are hollow and allow me to put more in the tire without having to add filler.Test it and find out, if you dont have enough side wall support add more,if it is to sluggish to respond to the throttle remove some. Its trial and error ,all trucks are different. Your tire choice, motor choice, weight of the rig, gearing, type of mud etc...... all make a big difference

I am running narrowed red rocks with them 3/4 full of beads and a little extra weight on the front wheels. I also have a 3 cell lipo and brushless set up in there so, torgue and wheel speed isnt an issue. Its a compromize though. Brushless isnt found of water or mud, narrow tires can help or hurt depending on the conditions, and thats a lot of weight in the wheels, but it is an all around truck and seems to perform to my liking.Mud, snow trail rides etc. the redrocks give me the diff clearance so wheen she settles down in the mud or snow it doesnt drag and traction in the lose stuff when in the trails
