Re: ♦♦♦♦ Land Rover Defender 90 Truggy ♦♦♦♦♦

Well, here is a small update....Since the last WARCRC scale comp was on mono rock, I decided to try out the Pitbull 1.9 rock beasts....and do they work! I am not sure if I will keep them for all the comps, due to how soft and short they are. I think the 1.9 mud slingers will do better at dirt-ish terrain. I also swapped in some Vanquish Products 8 Deg C-Hubs and Knuckles...did like the previous on zero ackerman setup...killed my turning.

Super sticky!

You can see my blue alum slash front hex I got some ebay, helps with knuckle clearance.

Here are some pics of the last WARCRC scale comp# 3. There were tons of killer drivers there but I was able to pull out 1st place out of my hat.

Nice, Justin! What foams are you using in the D90 and what kind of weight is it? I've got some Pit Bulls, but need some more support from the foams and not really sure what I'm going to get.

Re: ♦♦♦♦ Land Rover Defender 90 Truggy ♦♦♦♦♦

Tommy, try the new closed cell foams from crawler innovations. I am running those in my hotrod with 1.9 pits and they are doing the trick nicely. Soft front/med rears, lets the tire conform yet keeps it supported as needed. Best foam combo I have tried in the pits to date.

Re: ♦♦♦♦ Land Rover Defender 90 Truggy ♦♦♦♦♦

I'd love to try the closed cell foams, but it doesn't look like Eddie has 1.9 closed cell stuff listed on his website, just 2.2 stuff. I asked him about it, but haven't heard anything.

Here is a quick video I made from a few weekends ago...putting the Pit Bulls to the test.

Thanks Tommy! I am using the stock foams and need to use some stiffer foams. I need to swap in my 1.9 dual stage foams from my mud slingers made by crawler innovations....but your right, they have been out of stock for a while. BTW, this truck is a pig, might be at the 8-9lb mark.:mrgreen:

Wow, 8-9 lbs? I think those stock foams held up better than expected! Personally, I'm hoping Eddie comes out with a closed cell foam package that will stretch the diameter of these tires a bit.

Yep....she is a pig, must be those solid metal sliders.:lmao::mrgreen: I hope Eddie comes out with the closed foam 1.9s too...he makes some killer stuff.;-)

2.2 Rover foams work well.8)

Re: ♦♦♦♦ Land Rover Defender 90 Truggy ♦♦♦♦♦

I really like truggys and this is one of the best.
No, that is not an opinion, it's the truth.
The video was great, it was fun watching the tires working the rocks.
