Well here my second ever build thread. This is one of two 1/6 scale crawlers that I am building. I am gonna start a thread for each truck to keep this simple. Fir this crawler I am using some RC4WD Super Bully axles if I can get them to 13" wide. For now I am gonna run Jumbo Kong's until I can get the 40 series Swampers. This body is huge and IMO the Kong's look a little small.

That is a sweet build! What specs are your body? My body is a Columbia and its 35"Long, 15"Wide, 11" high, with a 21"WB. How do those axles handle the Kong's?

I went to post pics and didn't realize the Newbie restrictions. I'll post some when I have complied with them.

Buy an 'economy' star for $20, support the site and gain the instant ability to post pics! "thumbsup"

Axles are good for 6s but I only run 4s. It's been taken apart to revamp the frame and suspension but I have been side tracked with other projects. It is also going brushless and may change the transmission. Right now I think its 18 inch wheelbase. I would have to dig out the body but it think its around 25 inches long.

Definitely buy a star and show me some sweet tricks to make it badass. I just got a 1:6 NB Escalade body in the mail and want pointers!

Haha I am only two weeks away from my 30 days. What running gear are you running? I am getting a Mad Force today and gonna use that as a doner truck. My body is actually from a "Colombia" RC truck. I want to do more of a scaler. I have been working on the H1 Hummer build more just cause I have the parts for it. That one is a Tmaxx running gear with a 21" wheel base I believe.

I did a build a few years ago that use a rare 2 dr. JK 1/6 New Bright body using a T6 aluminum frame and a Summit 2 speed Trans. The Axles are Kyosho Twinforce axles that have custom hubs to run on custom CNC 1/5 beadlock rims. The sky is the limit with these larger builds and they can really stand out because of this. Good luck with your build.

I just finished a Desert Buggy build that is a 21'' wheel base also. It is one of my favorite builds to date.

That is badass! How did you set up the Summit Trans to work as a T-case? Where did you get those scale engines? I love the attention to detail!!!

Is there any tires bigger than the RC4WD Interco 40 Series Boggers? I think there 9.6 inches tall.

That is very big and heavy. you will need a very good drivetrain to hold up to the tires that size. If done right it will be a fun go just about anywhere R/C. It will stand out thats for sure!

I'm using a stock ridgecrest. I think I'll be running the transmission forward and bearing carrier to the driveline, then mount it to an aluminum c-channel chassis my friend will be working on. I just picked up a NB Hummer /w most of the interior and gave my escalade body to my friend for help, a work space, and so someone else I know will have one.

1/6 Jeep Gladiator.

19.5" wheelbase, AR60 axles, Custom BPC chassis, Custom MIP drive shafts (7.5" long) R2J 1/4" custom links, 220oz KMS winch, Holmes Hobbies 13T, VP Trans with steel gears and Hurtz dig unit. Proline TSL XL'S with Gear Head wheels etc, etc. Need to figure out a front bumper and sliders and start scaling it out.

Climbs like a goat. Last shot is for size comparison with the Dub.

This thing was a lot of fun to build and even more fun to drive.

Good luck on your build!
