My wife is a civil engineer and she loves construction equipment. Seeing as my son and I go and trail ride quite a bit now she wanted to join in and asked me to build her a truck. So, I found a Caterpillar toy dumptruck, bought a Wraith, Ridgecrest chassis, and went to town. Here it is.

Initial mockup:

After a little more work the original chassis from the truck is trimmed and cut to fit the Ridgecrest chassis.

7950 overkill?

Titan 21t motor running on 3S

LED rear taillights. Not that bright in the daytime. They are getting 6v and the drop on each red is 2.1v, so they are a little dim, but nice at night.

Next step is to hook a servo up to the spare channel and get that bed to dump from the remote. "thumbsup"

It's pretty much done (aside from the dump bed from remote). Now just to drive it. My wife is excited to get out on the trail.

Very cool truck. I have been thinking about doing the same but with an all metal tonka. Probably be really heavy though.
