2 day Trail event for scalers in Marseilles, IL

talked to the tavern...
$8 per person/day
first come first serve
check in at Noon inside the tavern before we head out back.
She said it shouldn't be a problem, we'll most likely have the place to ourselves since this weekend is a holiday, next should be dead.
beer, dogs, fire are all no problem "thumbsup"

We're having a comp this Sunday in Roselle if ya want to meet up sooner for a practice run "thumbsup"

so you guys for sure doing the tavern camp spot?

if so i will get a hotel in ottawa to be closer and the same direction away from the cliffs.

Beers, brats, cigars and a fire. We should go to breakfast in the morning, there has to be an Ihop or Denny's nearby.

For lunch, I can bring a portable grill, or do we invite the SCRC and Michigan guy to the campground for a break?

nope, nothing... no deposit and no reservation.
We (everyone camping) will need to be there at noon though... that's gonna be kind of a hassle.

Maybe we meet at the Cliffs, run a few hrs then head to the tavern for lunch and camp set up.

On Friday morning, or on Saturday morning?

I was going to bring a couple of those fire starter logs that burn a couple of hrs... it makes the fire so much easier!

Neil, I think that sounds fun... a group bbq lunch "thumbsup"
We should keep it simple... sausage/brats sound perfect!
How big is your portable grill, like a Weber Smokey Joe?

Maybe 1.5 time the size of a smokey joe. We carried it in the old RV and never used it. Still in the box and in the new(er) RV.

I have a couple of bigger Webers.
I wonder if I can fit one in my trunk along with all my other gear...
If we could get a few grills going, we could have a kick ass dinner bbq!

I have a camping stove I can throw in...but I have a feeling we'll be eating dinner at the tavern...which is perfect really. Who wants to mess with all that cooking/cleaning crap. So is everyone going down Friday night or Sat morning?

Edit: well nevermind...my comment then.
