2008 TCS Crawlers East Coast Championships

I have a few questions.

How many courses? 2.2 & super
How will the groups be split up?
How is the ladder decided after each course to see who progresses?

From my understanding , It will be 2 courses and then a finals course of the top 5 .

Again I "think" its more of a free crawl , And you will be able to run what ever course you want. Judges will be standing at there courses .

Almost......3 Courses, and a Top 5 Finals Course in 2.2
Scoring will be the same as Nationals. Keep all scores from all day...anyone not makeing Finals will recevie a DNS Score in the Finals Course.

Yes.....this is correct;-)

801RC/UTRCRC has been doing "Free Crawl" for almost a year now. I saw it work first hand in March. Its a less stress on the Official's, Judge's and the Driver's.

The only tricky part is around 6:00 PM the courses will close, and if you haven't finished ...its an automatic 50 pts:shock:

Why no super class top 5?

Also:

Will we be using the 20 points-then carry your crawler to the next gate rule?

So lets see if i have this right.

We will run 3 courses in 2.2 and the 5 drivers with the top combined score from the 3 courses will run a finals course.

In super we will run 3 courses no finals course and the final results will be decided from the total of the three courses.

Is this correct ?

Its our 1st big Regional event, and I didn't want to bite off more than I could chew...maybe next year

Yep...its a rule that worked for 3x National Champions, so why stop now.

Yes, and the Finals Course will be added in also;-)

That's how I think it should be done at all of our SERCRC events. "thumbsup"

So the supers courses and the 2.2 courses all open and close at the same time, or are 2.2's in the morning and supers in the afternoon?

At 6pm the courses close, what if due to no fault of my own, just the fact that the event ran slow I don't make it, am I penalized for that?

Same time

Its my goal to get everyone through all the course, and at 6 PM I will make a decision based the days events. Extreme weather might be the only legitimate excuse for holding up the event. Personal situations will not be part of the decision. If everyone waits around, and then tries jump on the courses at the last minute thats not beyond your control. As a driver I would assume the courses will close at 6:00 PM.

Chaos!"thumbsup"

This oughta be fun to watch pan out.

It will be fine....I was skeptical about it myself. If I didn't see it for myself at the 8O1Rc event in St. George Utah where they got 80 drivers through 5 courses with 3 less hours of daylight.

It will work awesome unless the weather screws us or drivers are too scared to run. Drivers will have 10 hours to drive 15 minutes ( 30 if you are in Super)

We just ran our last comp like this , this sunday. We only had like 20 drivers in 2.2 . Started at 9am was done with 2.2 at 11:30.

The system works !, There will be no problems unless the weather hits us in a bad way. Or you as a driver is not willing to just get up and drive. Less stress on everyone. Im sure once everyone sees how smooth it goes all the clubs will run the same way. ;-)

5 minute time limit

I take it your not going to let any of the TN guys build courses. There is no way anyone would finish one of our courses in 5 min. its hard to do in 8:lol:
