I just picked up a 3pks for a killer deal. And I love this radio.
Opened it up and was lost(was a spektrum user).
This thread is invaluable. Thank you for the time to write everything and break it down to dummy terms for us simpletons of the world.

Thanks again"thumbsup"

Harley,
Not sure where to post this question.

I picked up a 3PKS. I watched the vid for 2 esc's and proportional dig and would like to go that route. I have a HH BR-XL and a sidewinder. Would I be able to use these or do I need 2 of the same type of esc's. 2 BR-XL, 2 sidewinders, 2 MM micro pros, 2 fxr's.............Also would I need a separate bec?

Thanks,
Neil

You can use the exact same setup we are using for the 4PK with your 3PK. I would highly suggest getting two of the same ESC's for consistency. If you run two BR-XL's than you probably DON'T need a separate BEC. All other ESC's I would suggest picking up a Castle BEC.

IF you have any other questions with your 3PK feel free to post them in here. "thumbsup"

Dealing with a small dilemma here Harley.

I am running dual micro pros with 45t holmes handwounds, CC bec and S9157...yadda yadda...

I redid the wiring in my XR10, and having an issue with the front motor and reverse. The car will go forward in 4wd, but as soon as I go in reverse, front motor loses power. I know I know, who needs reverse anyway..hehe

Anyways, I have reprogrammed the CC bec, and the Micro pros by castle link, all checked fine as far as setup goes. Re "bound" the rx, and still get the same issue. I also re calibrated the ESC's to the radio. My next step is to clear my setup and start fresh on the 4PK.

I was just curious if you have ever come across an issue like this? My 4PK is set up identical to what you reccomend, but maybe I hit a wrong button in the process, but I cannot find that possible mistake. Thanks in advance.

Just got off the phone with JRH, sounds like it is most likely an esc issue like you said Josh. I soldered the BEC directly to where the wire leads are soldered to the board and he seems to think a FET was possibly damaged.

Also spoke to castle, and as soon as I told him I soldered to the board in telling him my setup, he wanted nothing to do with the conversation.

My bad! But I am not giving up! :) I'll try some more things tonight, and if all else fails JRH will have and order to fill ;)
