aa nimh 2500 charge amp?

I have an 8 cell AA nimh pack that I made. They are 2500 mah cells. What would you charge them at? 1 amp or? I dont know what they should charge at. Thanks for looking
 
Yeah, the AA cells have a pretty high resistance in relation to other cells. 1 amp max IMO, I would charge at .5a to be on the safe side. What brand cell are they?
 
That's good info there... I was thinking about picking some up... curious to see what type you are running.
 
I get much better charges out of my AA Nimh batteries when I use lower rates, in the .6 amp range. I usually cycle them twice, with discharge rate 1/2 of the charge rate, and the mAh usually goes up to maximum. Any faster, and they only get 2/3 or 1/2 charge.
 
I have a few sets of duracell aa and i charge them at .6a, it takes a while but they charge great and last a long time. 2550mah
 
OK I charged them at .5 amp, took about 2 hours, didn't even get warm and works perfect. Thanks again
