Adopt a newbie todaayy!!!

I'll help ya out:
A berg is a complete crawler from Japan & is made by Enroute or Newage, it comes as a chassis with 2 axles. the axles are a MOA design meaning that the motor(s) are on the axle, no transmission is needed. Most of the people on here use just the axles & use their own chassis design or some one else's(you can search for a chassis for a berg). Having the motors on the axle lowers the center of gravity so it will side hill better & climb a bit beter as the weight is down lower. The neat thing about the berg is it allows a electronic dig to be used so you can have rear dig & front dig, no gears to wear. You can use a switchs(get the right ones & this system is fairly good) & a servo to control the dig system or purchase the Punk Dig System. Do search the berg section as there is a lot of great info in there!

Huh i dont get any of that haha i aint new to rc i been into planes and heli for two years but im deff new to this lol i dont get lingo or tech cause my bf does all for me but im thinking i need to learn it on my own lol wish me luck:lmao:

I have my first RC in the mail as i type I should hopfully have it tomorow. I would love if some one could give me some of the terms that I will need to learn and a break down of what they meen that would be great.
When you give me the breakdown of what the terms meen please put it in automotive terms if you can I have been a rock crawler and a mechanic for years so auto terms I will understand.

the ax10 is a good sturdy shafty rig, it's biggest downfall is lack of steering. go for BTA(behind the axle) steering with vanquish 0 ackerman knuckles. this simple mod, in conjunction with anything you can do to lower th CG(center of gravity) will be huge. i have an xr10 but still run my ax10 in the sportsman class every chance i get.

A lot of the terms are the same as 1:1 as far as the axles, suspension, wheels and chassis goes.
You will need to learn about Lipo/NMHI batteries, electric motors (brushed and brushless), radio gear (tx = transmitter & rx = receiver), electronic speed controls (esc) and such. It's good to spend a few days reading everything and then when you get stuck... ask a question. Run a search first or people will tell you to search for the answer if they feel it's readily available. Enjoy your new crawler!

hi,I am dmjy,510 has a special meaning so I add to my username, you also can all me dm.I am new here, nice to meet you all .we will be frineds.can we?

Im looking for a crawler in kit form but not sure where to start. ive looked at the venom crawler / ax10 / xr10 but unsure which way to go. Ive been racing 10th electric buggies for a while now and fancy a go at crawling. i will probably only be bashing with it most of the time but i know i am very competitive so dont want anything that is not going to be comp worthy incase i do attend a few comps. (i dont mind adding a few upgrades at a later date) Im used to racing with good gear with my buggies so wouldnt want to run something aimed purely at bashers.
I like the idea of a shafty over moa as i already have brushless speedos i could hopefully use when matched with a high turn motor.
Ive mentioned i looked at the xr10 because it looks awesome (even tho its moa). Could a brushless setup be used on this kind of rig? Ive not run brushed for years and dont really fancy going back TBH
Im living in England, do any users also live in the uk that could post some useful info on where to practice / do comps.
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks
Tim"thumbsup"

Steering

Hello from Monmouth Oregon John here and have a problem out of the box.

Just bought a Losi 1:18 mini crawler. An have problem out of the box with little or no steering. what can or could i do about this

Just got a Losi Night Crawler

I wanted to start off by saying thank you for starting this thread and helping us Newb guys out "thumbsup".

I have a few questions:

If I upgrade the servo to something like 300 oz+ do I also need to upgrade the esc that comes stock in the LNC RTR package? Do I need the CC Bec and how does this thing work? 3) Any recommendations for other upgrades besides tires and rims?

Thanks!

Noob to rc crawling

Hey so I am looking for some advice, I have some older Tamiya 4x4 RC's and want to get into crawling. Is it possible to convert a off road chassis into a crawler? Or would I need to get a compleatly different frame? Here is a pic of what I am thinking of making into a crawler. If it is possible. It is a TA02 Tamiya frame. Thanks for the help.:)

Hey guys like all the others im pretty new to this crawler world. I have a RC drifter I have tons of fun with but am looking into venturing into something different than going sideways. Right now I am torn between getting a Comp Crawler or a Scale Rig. Im leaning towards gettin a scale rig and making it look like my stock 1:1 YJ. I hope my search through these forums help me decide what it is I really want and I look forward to learning everything about rc crawling.

If your thinking of making the step into lipo, u first have to know if your esc can handle lipo and if so what can it hand 2 cell 3 cell ect, I use a 2000 mah 2s lipo and get around 45 min on my comp crawler. I run a Passport AC/DC LiPo 6S Charger it will do every thing that u need from 2s-62 and it super simple."thumbsup"
