I run a Yeah Racing 5 slot on 3S in my Marlin without issue.
Nice and smooth, plenty of power, great price point and doesn’t seem to get hot.

How many turns is the model you are running?
And - may I ask what pinion as well?

If I remember correctly, it’s a 16T motor and I think Im running a 14 tooth pinion, and stock spur.

I've been using the 13t version for a while but not a big fan to be honest.
It has less total power and punch than the chinese rebuildable 27t 3 slots and the drag brake is much weaker with them.
They are much smoother start up on the flat and slow speed control is much better also but due to the lower torque density from the 5 slot by the time you amp up the power enough to get over large rocks or similar it's not any smoother than the 3 slot variants.
They might be a little better for strictly on rocks or for scale rigs but i would rather go back to the 3 slot chinese motors than the 5 slots again.
The Holmes Crawlmaster Sport series might be a better choice.

It seems common for people to accuse him of being paid off but no one has any evidence of it.
All he's guilty of is criticizing a popular truck.
His criticisms seem valid since he literally demonstrates the problems he's describing in his video.
