Another Jeep build..this time a TJ

good plan!

Thanks man, do you plan on using some 1.55 pitbulls for any of your scale builds?

What size and mah lipos are you running?

It has three 2S 850mah lipos in there. I have two mounted on the firewall, and one is sandwiched between the top of the servo and the underside of the hood.

Definitely one of the most beautiful TJs out there....love it!!

Thank you! Ser3100 did all the fabrication work!"thumbsup"

Still one of my favorite builds EVER! If I wasn't such an Axial fiend I'd love to try those axles....just cant imagine having to have different spare parts to worry about.

I totally hear ya. If it helps, I've used k44's for about a year with absolutely zero broken axle parts. But I also have never broken axial axle parts either so maybe I'm just too nice to my rigs. :)

Sooo i went back through the thread and couldn't find the information i am after. When you swapped the k44's in, did you do a pan hard bar or are you only running a double triangulated front? I'm most likely going to pull the trigger on some 44's today, just can't find much info on panhard's for them and i'm not quite sure i want to fight 4 link bump steer.

Thanks man, they are great axles and very heavy duty compared to other rc4wd offerings. Not to mention the front comes stock with heavy duty xvds.

This video is a good one to watch if you are having trouble deciding on buying K44's based on the strength issue.

Lil test for the rc4wd k44 axles! - YouTube

That was my plan as well when purchasing the pair of K44's, not to beat on them. They were going under such a nice rig that I knew they weren't getting abused. I have another pair waitng for a build to come to fruition.

I can't say the same about my axial rigs, I beat the crap out of most of my axial based rigs. They can take it, plus once all the aggression is out I can switch back to a more scale rig ( this jeep to be exact) and enjoy the slow going.

No I did not use a pan hard bar, it's double triangulated with the servo up on the chassis.

Rc4wd does offer a three link truss for their TF2 that fits the K44, the D35, the Yota axles, and TLT's as well I believe.

Like heinie said...I have no trouble with bump steer when using the K44's and double triangulated links. But I make sure that I use very short shocks like 90mm or 80mm up front.

i dont know about salmon, but i've never run a panhard with k44's and havn't noticed an annoying amount of bumpsteer

Same here.

The axles look like a custom 3link truss could be fabbed to make a 3 link/ panhard setup work. Unfortunately i dont have any axles to try and fab something up. If tlt's could be made to run a 3 link then i think pretty much any axle could be made to work. Just takes some thinking outside the box:)!

Basically just make a truss that spans the top side of the axles, connected via the top axle mounts and then braze on a link mount for the panhard rod. Im prettty sure anyone could just follow the same lines as the top of the pumpkin to make it look nice and low profile. Damn if only i had a set, if try!

I was gonna do that with those D35's Rich but then lost interest in the whole thing. I wish i could find a pic to better describe what i was gona do. Someone on here did something similar but to an axial axle but i cant find it.

Like this but with an upright for the pan hard.
