Another Jeep build..this time a TJ

So, with the right tires, would this be considered a Class 1 rig? Would those fenders be legal?

I've been considering something fairly similar for a C1 build and I thought I'd comment on the legality of this rig (or one similar for C1). I believe the things that would bump it to C2 are:

- The (front) bumper isn't at least as wide as the windshield.
- Only minor fender trimming is allowed. I don't think the high-lined fenders would be considered "minor".
- Tires cannot extend beyond the bumpers. Not sure if this applies, though.
- Tire coverage is borderline in the rear and there's too little coverage up front.

I adore this rig, but as it sits, it would need some revamping to be C1 legal. Just wanted to point it out since the topic was brought up. 8)

This pic definitely puts things into perspective. The soft top is significantly bigger than the open top Tj.

I saw this jeep in person this weekend and wow... its such a compact neat little rig. It flexes perfectly, tucks the tires right into the fenders like it came from the factory that way and Richard has done a marvelous job creating one of the coolest rigs I've ever held in my hands. You guys who are nit picking it need to see it in person. Its just awesome!

Thank you Tommy! After Die-laughing suggesting the idea of a run in C1, I checked the rules and yes the bumper, fenders, and tire coverage are a bump into C2.

With that being said, I doubt me or this rig would get very far running with other C2 rigs.

I'll have to use my Double Cab Hilux for C1 once I change the wheels or put on fender flares.

No updates, I did get the BEC soldered in place. Weather permitting I'll try and run her Sunday.
