I have wanted one of these for a long time...
I never have liked Rtr's.
So my lhs ordered this for me and I picked it up today.
The manual is very nice, laid out according to the bag letter, and in seeming logical order. Axial could learn from it...

Haha, thanks. The rig seems very well thought out and tons of tech.
I have the gear box put together, using a (gasp) axial 27t motor.
Found a surprising amount of steel when putting it together. By the way, I HATE E CLIPS! I lost a big one in the abyss of my work room floor.

Man I so wish I had the time/space to build a kit. I miss it. Not to mention I don't need anymore crappy RTR radio gear.

I just now noticed that the kit body panels don't have the built in light buckets. Now I see why my wife calls me captain oblivious.

I am building this in my living room on my coffee table while watching TV with the wife. A couple hours here, a couple there and pretty soon you have a complete truck.

I love that the panels don't have the light buckets.


I decided to treat myself, (I paid off my 1:1 truck) transmission is turning smooth and shifting nice.

Only trouble I have had has been loosing the e clips last night. I made a lot of progress tonight, need to open one more bag to complete the front end. Really enjoying this kit, its complex but has a very well thought out directions, and the parts all fit very well together.

The light buckets do look stupid, I have almost wore all of mine off. So mine will look good soon I guess :ror:

I picked up a 22t pinion from my lhs today.
Then I made a ton of progress after i got home from work tonight, front end mounted, rear axle built, shocks built, and everything assembled including the cage.
Overall I am impressed with the quality and ease of building this kit. To get her running I need a Tx/Rx, and some tuning time, camber, toe,and steering links.
Currently set up with the soft rear sway bar, none in front, lockers front and rear, rear upper links in the high position, rear shocks in the middle position, front uppers in the inside position and a arms level, with a 4000kv 4pole brushless, hitec servos, and 2s lipos(maybe 3s later) for power.
My intent is to have a fun trail rig that can blast up muddy and or snowy slopes with ease, and can go anywhere my wife's scx10 goes.

Got her painted and stickered up this morning.

Notice I left off the"falken" stickers off. It bugs me to have a falken sponsered truck with Interco tires on it... Lol.

Waiting on my Dx4c I ordered.

This is the first RC I am truly excited about driving, since my original scx10 kit I built. Watching YouTube videos, I am amazed at the punishment this little buggy takes.
Only a couple niggles... The rear sway bar links hit the battery tray, I fixed it by putting a slight bend just as it goes past the shock. The other is the tiny screws, I stripped two total in the build, 1 on the trans and the other on the front skid.

The stock screws are weak. I would go with a KNK screw kit from the start if I had to do the kit again.

Now that the buggy is built, I wish I would have known. I may just pick up the Knk kit to replace the screws I strip out.

Yes it is a lexan LS motor, covering the battery.

Got the electronics nice and tidy, not a lot of room but its all in there...

Picked this up, my old batteries were a little underrated.

On 3s this power system is insanely powerful.

OK been pissed off lately, taken out two shift servos, magic smoke time...

Turns out Dx4,AVC was killing my servos, I have never seen this before. The A V C was off and making the servo literally vibrate. The hobby shop traded me a wp receiver and another servo, went with a micro. Building a mount for it now.

Took her out on a maiden, locked in low(waiting on my shift servo)
And...


I beat on it pretty hard, no damage, during a little trail run with the wife today. It is a great crawler, minor cogging when bound up, plenty of power on 2s, everything remained nice and cool. Nice and stable, doing donuts, steering is adequate, enough speed to catch a little air on sharper jumps. I didn't put it in second, can't wait till my shift servo comes in.
Problems, when jumping and unloading the front suspension I could hear the dog bones in the front binding a little. Limit straps will be made soon.

In other words I love it.
