Min-z? I take it they are good:)
nooo, a Mini-Z is a micro sized Racer, like the onroads TC3 etc, well, the motors on the heli that youre getting look about the size of the motors in the Mini-z, and I was thinking you should put some mod motors in there just to say you did..

Im gonna say stay the helll away from that!!!!!!!!

No brand name means no support (parts batt what have you)
It intentionally has the name marked on it blurred or blocked in every pic.

Its saying something about cv on the box when the E-FLite stuff is all CX or CP which is deceiving.

The charger, batt and blade setup all seem E-FLite like but.... I dunno just for a model to sit on a shelf its too expensive and let alone if you break it

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT

if thats what you want, get the E-sky Lama 3, major brand name, spare parts availability, and not cheap asian crap toy. (ive been there 5 helis)
or as suggested, the E-Flight CX2 is THE beginer heli. (or second or third if your looking for a fun easy flyer

Hi Moondust
i have one of those which my brother-in-law gave me brand new!
Ive only tried it twice but i found it great fun, makes a change from the savage or the clod plus the cats love it:twisted:
The instruction manual is fantastic for a beginner like me i dont think you will be disapointed.

Just to let you know the English distributor is:
wwwjperkinsdistribution.co.uk
so check them out for spare parts availability

hope this helps
heavyD"thumbsup"

go for something like the cx2, and if you want to get into something better after that buy a sim, then a t-rex which althought looks complex if you follow some great set up videos they are great.

Whoops.

It is a bit to late to go for another model as I have already paid for the helicopter and Moondust should have it within the next couple of days. I spoke to a couple of model shops and one in particular that specializes in helicopters and they both recommended this model as been good for a beginner. I also looked for reviews and on the basis of what I found and read I ordered the helicopter.

It is only intended as a bit of fun and to see if James,s interest can be developed further. [he is only 12]

At the same time after reading your comments above, I am slightly worried I might have wasted my money.

Most of those counter rotating helis are copies of the Hirobo Lama. Which is more expensive then all the copy cats, but is well worth it for the better electronics and design in general.

Let us know how it does tho, and what the dimensions are on the motors, always looking for cheaper options for my lama.

Just for anyone following this thread, here is a good link on how to maintain these helicopters. There is a few suppliers of spares in the UK and I have contacted a couple today and they have numerous items available.

I just need to make the garden look like Korea.

Oh before I forget.

Before you ask James. The answer is NO

You have to remember these guys are across the pond and the brand names are not necessarily well known here!

I'm pretty sure that is being sold in the states a a M.A.S.H. helicopter by hobby people.

Received the helicopter today. The full package is really good in my opinion. The packaging is very well thought out and all items are very well protected. The helicopter is encased in its own protective moule that is very sturdy. The instruction manual is BRILLIANT. It explains all the terminollogy in laymans terms. It has brilliant pictures and colour photographs that give you the information. It includes an exploded view to show how the copter goes together. There is a section with colour photographs that show the parts, part numbers and part descriptions. There are also contact details for any warranty repairs or parts required.

I have not watched the operational dvd as yet that came with the package and as I type the battery is charging so the copter has not been flown as yet. Have a look at the pictures and let me know what you think.

As a first flying model I am really really pleased with this purchase.

That's a nice looking heli!

The rotor parts look similar to the blade cx that I've got, the blades even have the same markings on them. It was real easy to figure out how to fly, so you'll definitely will have fun with it.

I have just tried it in the garden got it off the ground slightly then the battery whent flat.

I have not used lypo battery's before do you have to wait for them to cool down or just charge them straight away after use?

Thanks

james
