AT&T Upgrade

If you were from my area I would recommend upgrade to Verizon. I've had at&t for 6-7 yrs now and i swear they piss me off more and more every year. It's getting to the point where my phone ONLY picks up in remote locations but if I'm in the middle of a city or town....NOTHING! 97% coverage my ass. They do have some of the coolest phones though.

But if you have good service. I recommend the Iphone. I would recommend the 3gs though. I've had one of those and it was a really stable phone. I know a few people that have the Iphone 4 and they say they are.....OK.

Getting what?
In Farmington ALLTEL PHONE COMPANIES ARE SWITCHING TO AT&T.:flipoff:

Well here in Farmington, Alltel has good service and I guess from what ive heard, at&t is taking over all of the alltel stores and towers. Im hoping to upgrade to an iphone. The alltel stores said that we will get a free upgrade to at&t phones. Ive also heard that the LG Tritan would be a comparable upgrade for an iphone. Im hoping so.

Dont hold me to this.....I still use a Motorola Razor. But last I heard the only answer to a iphone was a droid phone. Could be wrong. Not the first time.

Most of the Alltel stores were changed to Verizon. The ones that weren't are apparently being picked up by AT&T(mine is going in a few months). The towers are remaining the same, but they are switching over to the AT&T signal(this is what I was told by my local Alltel store). I have had great service from Alltel and not sure if Im going to like the change. The Verizon in my area couldn't give me service at my home(in town) so I moved to Alltel. The wireless signal is suppose to be better though(with AT&T).
As far as the swap goes, it is a free swap if you get the same phone(Im using a BlackBerry, which was new in FEB of this year, but might look at the IPhone or a Droid), if you upgrade it will cost you. This is what I have found out from my local store.

As part of the anti trust (no monopoly) agreement verizon had to sell some of their rural markets ie the four corners area. I am pretty worried about the service I have only been hearing bad things about AT&T. I am going to give them some time, but i have verizon on speed dial to make the switch if they (AT&T) piss me off.

Bingo. Verizon did already buy them out but in some markets other big carriers will be getting some of the Alltel stores/towers in order to prevent a monopoly. My last year in the phone business with Verizon was when that merger took place.

AT&T does suck service wise. Thats why they have the "cooler" phones. Gotta make up for that crappy coverage somehow.

BTW, FWIW, the reason why Verizon is always getting the latest & greatest phones so far behind other carriers is because the other carriers basically get dibs on them from the manufacturers for a certain length of time. The other carriers do this because they flat out do not have the service Verizon does. Cool phones are the only thing that gets people in the door.

Oh, & Verizon will be getting the iPhone at some point in the very near future.....only 2-3years after its come out lol.

I was with AT&T for 8 years, and I'll never go back to them. I remember sitting on the phone with CS for upwards of 2 hours trying to fix THEIR screw up.

I changed to t-mobile, and now if I have a problem, its fixed, and I'm off the phone in about 10 min.
