Axial Advise! New to crawlers.

If you get the RTR version, my first upgrade would be to replace the stock plastic suspension and steering links with metal ones.
As for the shocks, I am using the stock axial shocks and have never had any problems with them leaking. I find that with the amount of fluid I have in them (about 85% full) that they create the perfect balance of vehicle stability and suspension flexibility. Try that and see if you are happy with it.

Other suggestions:
Move the battery tray to the front of the truck and the ESC and receiver box to the rear.

Add weight to the wheels (i like 3.5 ounces on the front wheels and 2.5 ounces on the back wheels).

Always check the wheelbase of a body before you buy one and make sure it matches or is really close to the wheelbase of your RC.

I second this! "thumbsup" although for weight distribution on the SCX 10 Rubicon I located my battery in front of the reciever box where the drag brake controller is typically located, just in front of the motor then i relocated my drag brake onto the top of my reciever box. My reasoning for this was obviously lower overall COG and keep as much weight in between the 2 axles as possible, thus creating a 50/50 balance ratio. I crawled last night and it worked amazingly, and I havent even added wheel weights yet!

Hopefully, this isnt confusing I would post pics but I am on a work computer.. oops lol

Exactly how would I add weights to wheels? Part number?

And it'll be stock for at least a month or so. Haven't even ordered it yet :p

Ok I just checked it out and since it is for 2.2 wheels will it still wrap around the 1.9s? I'm guessing it just wraps or would I have to melt them?

Damn just read the first 5 posts on each link you gave me and GOD DANG! That's a horrible reputation!

Thank you for the heads up!! I will be using RPP as everyone is referring to!
