Axial rr10

Wow ...."thumbsup"a new axial rtr that's great can't wait to get my hands on one of those. .any budy gets one post some reviews please.. like to know about it. .

One thing though, why didn't they stick with the Walker Evans bead locks from the Yeti instead of going with a glue on version for the RTR?

Cutting cost to hit that $399 price was probably a reason as well. Plus I have to agree, they just don't hold.

Glue on tires and rims are an improvement? I've never had a problem with Axial's bead locks kit or rtr. Just make sure beads and rims are clean before mounting.

Maybe you aren't driving like some of us, it's a known issue with how they don't hold very well. New tires, clean tires, green tires, blue tires, it really donesn't matter.

Will we see a specific RR10 sub forum?
General rule, as soon as Jason or Badger have one in hand (that means even before they are available in stores).

I just have to ask, if Axial went through the expense to make tooling for new axle housings, why didn't the make a centered rear axle? Not hating, just asking a realistic question.

I've been thinking about this a little more lately. We know they didn't change the housing (you saw that later), but for those of us who like the look of the centered axle, we are going to have one slight downside.

Brandon went all crazy and made the driveline super efficient for offset pumpkins by putting everything in a nice straight line. So now those of us who insist on screwing with everything are going to make it less efficient all in the sake of making it look cooler....... :flipoff: <--for Brandon

Anyone know if it comes with a licensed scale Randy Slawson head?

Axial isn't really anticipating people making 6x6 RR10s, the pass through cover is for using the AR60 axles in totally custom 6x6 projects.

It also makes the springs act softer than an equal spring mounted on the axle. Probably why it looks so torque twisty in the video.
How do trailing arms make springs softer? I thought having the shocks at the end of the lever (trailing arm) would make them softer rather than in the middle because you have more leverage at the end.

This rig is awesome and I will definitely be purchasing the kit version.

One simple reason - $$$MONEY$$$ It really would take pennies on the dollar to include beadlocks, but then Axial wouldn't sell as many beadlocks separately. It's a greed thing. Plain and simple.

After replacing a pair of cracked end joints on my SCX-10’s Axial metal suspension links yesterday, I have decided that the typical plastic end joints Axial puts on their metal suspension links would not hold up on the RR10. They don’t hold up terribly well on my much slower SCX-10. I assume those style links will be in an RR10 kit and I’d probably end up replacing them with Vanquish metal suspension links anyway, so the RTR is looking like the better choice for me. As for the brushed system, it will probably end up in an SCX-10 kit down the road.

I decided to get the RTR version and not wait for a kit version within hours of the official release. I’m just hoping the late November date holds up. I’ve been researching a Twin Hammers build. One look at the RR10’s product page threw that plan out the window.

.

Moving the bottom shock away from the fulcrum (ex onto axle) will stiffen the ride. Moving it closer like in the middle of the link will soften it. Fulcrum being link mount at skid.

The Twin Hammers is a fun build and even more-so in the playground. I would recommend you keep it on the back burner.

While both are 1:10 scale by advertisement, in all reality the TH will likely appear to be a mini next to the forthcoming Bomber.

What do you guys think the odds are of the trans skid bolting up to a wraith? Probably not but that would be pretty cool.

Was wondering the same thing. It would be great to buy the skid plate and install it a wraith frame.

I bet some enterprising souls will make a solution available. Either a rr10 trans & transfer case on a wraith skid, or a Wraith/Scx trans on a rr10 skid.

But you are aware that it probably took a lot longer to get this thing molded and done than a month right ;-) 3D printing definitely makes things easy to hit the market first, but we still know how the market goes.

Just the tooling alone would take months to have made. Let alone the engineering, modeling and drafting it takes just for the said tooling.

Yeah I'm thinking the same. The Axial rod ends develop slop very quickly. I guess I'll be placing my order sooner than I had planned. I WAS going to buy an Ascender but I guess that will have to wait another couple weeks.

Back at you buddy :flipoff:

That's funny.......... If it does I'm sure someone would find fault with it.

Cheers,
Wade

Of course I make the comment in good humour, but I actually think it would be a super-cool addition to the parts bag that Axial so impressively continues to chuck in their boxes. It is Randy Slawson's rig after all! :)

C'mon Axial!

When Axial released the Rtr yeti around july 2014 i had just bought a twin hammers and by January they released the kit which i bought. I plan on waiting for the bomber kit also, i went rtr with my first axial, the green wraith with lights and spent way too much because i wanted Vanquish everything and was very green about crawling and scaling or just general rc knowledge and didn't know about their kits.
