Axial rr10

Hey Chad, do you have a Castle Link to change settings in the MMP? That will allow to to make the changes that you really need. You can bump up your punch control to 80-90% to tame down the initial hit along with editing the amount of start power to a medium or low setting. This along with a throttle curve will make the low end super smooth while also allowing for the same top end, the Castle Link is absolutely worth the money.

Oh yeah. I've done a curve and start power is at medium. Can't remember what I set punch control at. Maybe stock 30%. Have to work on it some more. Per previous post it seems to be better.

I got my STRC aluminum motor mount from Tower yesterday. It looks like a really nice piece. My Mamba Max Pro is on the way. I'm still trying to decide on a brushless motor. I have it narrowed down to two. Both are Holmes Puller Pros. One day I thing 3500kv and the next 2200 kv. If I can be confident that I won't lose any crawling ability, the 3500kv will be it.

I thought I had mine too fast but it's good now. I need to get some running video up. But since you just don't need that top end speed I'd go lower kv if I had to do over. I cut my curve off at about 65-70% of the top speed.

Screamer suggested that I go with the 2200kv Puller Pro. I'm probably going to get it. My Bomber doesn't have to be super fast.

What's it been? About 3 months now since the Bomber was released. Anybody have a clue on when the kit version might be released? Almost pulled the trigger last night and ordered the RTR, but have to resist temptation. The kit version has to be right around the corner..... I hope. :)

I don't know man. From the rumors I've been hearing that axial is focusing away from kits. I was trying to do the same but in reality if a kit drops what significant upgrades will it really have that's worth anything probably machined gears in the axles and metal plates for the lower rear a-arms and a sway bar maybe. Wasn't enough for me to justify waiting especially if the kit may not even be coming out.

Tough call kit could be announced soon or not at all.

With my luck, as soon as I order the RTR the kit will be released. "IF" the kit has the same upgrades as the Yeti it will be worth the wait. I hope what you heard is not true that axial is focusing away from kits...... Then again from a business point of view. Stop selling kits. Only offer RTR and sell the upgrades and make more money..... Be like Traxxas. ;-)

I hope they don't stop selling kits as well. Maybe you can hold off a little longer. I couldn't. :)

I would expect any Bomber kit to be similar to the Wraith Spawn kit, the only useful upgrade will be the universals. HD gears would be nice but unlikely.

If you want a Bomber, just buy the RTR. You are going to have to disassemble it to grease the transmission and axles and rebuild the shocks at minimum. Just think of the RTR as a kit that saves you the hassle of painting the body and gluing the tires. "thumbsup"

Are most of you guys running the brushed setup or have you gone brushless? I personally would like to install the brushless system out of a Yeti in the the RR10 like some/many have done.

Bought the rig last week of Dec, 35T motor was on there for about 3 weeks.
Wanted more speed- used a 20T for 15 mins before it burnt up lol.

Now Im on the Vanguard 3150kv with AE-3 (+Castle link)
It's sort of too much power (RTR glued tires came unglued), finishing the 2 speed install tonight. In love with the brushless power tho

Going brushless I soon realized most of the plastic suspension bits needs to be replaced.

I've replaced everything pretty much ;-)
Next step would be Currie axles...
but Beef Tubes seem to help the plastic AR60s

NitritedCarbide, Let me know how it runs with the 2 speed. "thumbsup" I read somewhere that the Vanguard AE-3 is the same as the CC Sidewinder 3 but twice as much. Is there truth in this? I'm really thinking about getting the RTR (Not really wanting to wait any longer for the kit.;-) ) and running the Vanguard 3150kv with the CC SW-3 "IF" it's the same as the AE-3.

Before I started the 2speed install last night, I was able to run a few packs with an open front diff- lots of fun, can take turns a lot faster.
Until I bashed it into a 8 inch ditch, and somehow managed to sheer all 3 screws on the motor (that holds body of motor to front cap)
Initial thoughts was I messed up a trans gear or spur, but was a quick fix.

I do have dual sets of Pro-Line shocks (front & rear),
Going to switch to 15wt shock oil (currently 30wt) figured double the dampening so go half wt on the oil.

Yes it's same ESC just rebranded. The sidewinder 3 fan fits on the AE-3 also.

If you want a Bomber, don't wait for a kit. Get one now. My Bomber is my favorite rc and has been a real blast to drive. I took mine mostly apart to check the transmission and axles before I ran it much. The way I see it, RTR's seem like a better deal than kits. Also, I don't care for the upgrades Axial puts in their kits. I'd rather have aftermarket metal links.

If you don't want the electronics, save them for an SCX-10/Ascender/Trail Finder. The servo is junk in a Bomber, but it seems to be working fine in my SCX-10. The 35t motor also works great in my SCX-10.

I am running a Castle MMP and a Holmes Puller Pro 2200kv. I think that is the perfect setup for a Bomber. It crawls exactly like stock and has good speed on a 3s lipo. 4s power is fun for bashing around the yard. I am of the opinion that the Bomber bashes and crawls well. It crawls way better than my SCX-10.

Just purchase a Hitec 7950. It has 403oz of torque at 6V and 486oz of torque at 7.4V. I know its a little over twice the price but its the last servo you will ever have to buy. Not to mention their customer service is top notch if you ever need them.
Savox 1230sg is 1/2 the price, has more torque, and is just as fast, if not slightly faster. Just sayin' ;)

The 1230 has a good bit of power, but one glaring flaw. Broken servos ruin the day.
