I also got to do my spray in bed liner last nite . I used Krylon Fusion Black Satin as my base coat . Then I used Dupli-Color spatter paint gray snd white . Then I did I very light dust coat on the Krylon black over the top . The pics have more shine than in person .

Re: Badd's Billy Bob

Well my Yota axles came yesterday . My U-bolt kits came in this morning . The U-bots just put the axles over the top . I also moved the steering links on top on the knuckles . Whats a Yota without a high steer setup ?

I don't get to work on Bobber much this week much . About all I got done was the rear axle mounted . Again the u-bolts just make it .

Oh and my GCM transfer case came in today . This is the 2nd one of these I have owned and I love them . They are made so simple and tough as nials .

Re: Badd's Billy Bob

Comin out sick"thumbsup" I think I wanna step up the "scalenss" of my Honolulu HI-lux and put in a GCM transfer, can't wait to see your set up. What trans you gonna run? I was thinking of a Disruptot for mine. I love my Yotas too but wish RC4WD built some "clock" into the front axle.

Re: Badd's Billy Bob

What leaf springs are them BADD.
The rears are RC4WD red softs with a short Hilux under them .
The fronts are Hilux mains with short Hilux under them . I' not sure How they will do just yet . I have some OG Bruisers and I may order up another set of the reds .

Re: Badd's Billy Bob

Have thought of getting some from chino63 he make the delrin one.
I tried delrin ones on my old Bob build . They last about 3 runs and I broke one of them . I think I will stay away from them on the one . I will get the springs working good . "thumbsup"

Re: Badd's Billy Bob

Small update , I opened up the GCM t-case and replaced the bearings with AVID sealed ones . The ones that came with the case where metal shielded ones . I have never been crazy about them . I coated the gears with some Lithium grease . I also removed the steal screws and replaced them with SS button heads .

I also got the stock rear cross member back in . I had to do alittle work on the rear shackle mounts spacers to make it work . But you can't tell it is not factory now .

I got alittle more done this afternoon . I cut the lower front fenders as well as the bed from the cab . I also moved the front axle forward some . I might have gone to much . I will see when I get the tires on that I'm going to run .

I got a few things done last nite and today . I didn't like the shine on the axles . So I broke them down and clean them up . I sanded the old paint and got them ready for a new coat of Satin paint . They came out great, looks more like you would see under a rig . Next I replaced the bearings with rubber sealed ones in the rear axle . I have never thought much of metal sealed bearings .

I didn't like the red on the rear leaf spring so I sanded them down and sprayed them with a charcoal grey . It almost looks like bare metal . I also cut some button head screws . They act as tie bolts to hold the leafs in place . I took some heat tubing and made some bushing for the leafs . I also Chino cut them .

I will also replace the axle hex with set screws . I hate that they don't have the set screws to hold them in place . I may have some ,if not they will be on my next order .

A note to anyone running Yota axle . The rear axle was shipped without grease . The front had to much in it . So you better check yours before you run them .

I got some done this morning . I finished up the front Axle . New sealed bearings and light coat of lithiun grease . I also replaced the knuckle bushing with some HPI flanged pipes 3X4.5X5.5mm ones . That took the sloop out of the knuckles / Cs . I have never seen that much in a set of new axles . I plan on getting a set of XVD inter axles when them come in stock .

I also worked on the wheel base more . When I pushed the front out the other day it was to much . I think it will be good now, when I get my taller tires .

Here is some pics to show the new paint on the axles and springs .
