Here you go, i got them from ebay.

these are the GPM knuckles? I need a set for my rummied brusier axles.

Looking good keep it coming."thumbsup" I think I sold those axles to obijuan a long time ago.

I think it's time that we raise this thread from the dead

I love the simplistic look of this rig, so I began hunting down parts for my own build. I was noticing that you don't run shocks in the rear. Are they not needed?

My other question was about the steering knuckles. Are those DF-03 Tamiya knuckles?

Awsome build!!! I would love to see some updated shots ;-)

I will post updated shots tonight of this rig"thumbsup" I took it with me to Raush Creak this weekend and was doing working on the comp course with it

It doesnt have rear shocks simply because I havent had time to make or fit any to it :ror:

and the knuckles are supposedly GPM ones off of ebay

Great pics, gotta love the flex! Do you run any weight in the wheels to help keep them planted?

Matt had the wheel weighted when I got it and they also have relief cut in the center to allow them to breathe. The truck climbs some knarly lines and the 3300 nimh battery pack is behind the trans

LOL!!!! I love it!!!

I've been searching high and low for those steering knuckles, but can't seem to find the right ones. They look very similar to the DF-03 knuckles but the DF-03 knuckles are much larger in height.

I just got my care package of bruiser axles and chassis parts in the mail yesterday, so I should be able to start on the build here shortly "thumbsup"

I noticed that your using a plate of sorts to mount your u-bolts too. Is that home made? I say this because you mentioned that you moved your front axle forward a bit and I wondered if that plate gave you that ability.

Hey Brett,
I am looking forward to your build "thumbsup" Still gotta find the time to ring you on those other questions you had.

The truck does have a U bolt flip kit on it. The ones on this truck are the ones Nick Rummy was making when he was a vendor. All I did to push the front axle forward was take the centering pin out of the leaves and then push it forward like an 1/8" while the u bolts were slightly snug...once i got it where I wanted it I tightened them down all the way. You can only move it forward a tiny bit cause otherwise you'll mess up the caster and front pinion angle (which could be corrected with a wedge).

I have a thread somewhere (ill find it) showing how to do a Bruiser u bolt flip using stock mounting hardware and some scrap tlt chassis plates.

That totally makes sense. It looks like I should be able to make me a set of those plates without too much trouble.

I can't wait to get started!!!

a week or so ago I put this rig up for sale...I spent a lot of money on my Subie this month and wanted to pad the bank account but there were no bites on it at all. I really love this truck, it works awesome, springs are settled in and it tire trucks like a champ  So since it didnt sell I decided I am going to part with my OG Hilux and keep this instead. I really didnt want to sell my OG lux because I had long sort after one to have the step side bed. I dont think is necessarily a fan favorite but I always thought it was cool. I then remembered I had picked up a bare bed from a member here some time ago that I was going to do a drop bed with it for my OG. Well, this bed was red, this truck is red so I decided to turn this thing into a step side. spent the last day or so working on it and I am pretty stoked with the results.

This drop bed is probably the easiest one to do...all you have to make is a box and you are more or less done. Out came the dremel, styrene, paper cutter, plastruct, a ruler, a pencil and Reign products cab back. Within a short period of time I ended up with this

while letting it cure I recently received some goodies from my buddy MThead...This is often missing from by builds because I cant justify buying an entire decal sheet from Tamiya just to get the grill emblem. These are nothing short of pure awesomeness

The bed, like most OG Hiluxs I have come across, was missing the bed rails so I picked up some half moon styrene and cut 2 strips. I then coated it with some bed liner, and sprayed the cab back black which I think looks cool.

End result

I tossed a new servo in it as the other one was hurting so this rig is ready for the trails again
