There is a seller on Ebay that has 1/8 buggy soft compound Badlands. But they are not Proline tires and they only come mounted. Is the Badland tread good enough to be a real performer in a M3 Soft compound? I am thinking of putting a set on my M2K sidewalls. I tried a set of their M2 Knockoff Badlands on my 1/8 buggy and they are of a high quality.:?::?::?:

I know what you mean. But I think they are just selling three different types of tires and you choose when you win.

Kinda pricy since I would need 2 sets to make some about 5.25" tall. But that is the price of doing buisness I guess. Suprasales is a good seller I have bought tires from them before.

I have bought thoes tires befor on my old buggy the rims dont hold up to 8' high jumps about 15' long they crack the tires are glued verry good though

Apears they are mini pins in the other pics. Seller needs to get his act together first, I don't trust sellers who can't even setup an e-bay auction.

if you read the discription is states the the is 3 different style tires, thats the reasoning for the 3 different style of tires pictured!!

They Badlands tire people use for donor tread are from
the Monster truck TMAXX or Savage size Badlands.
They must be narrowed and new sidewalls graphed in place
from a 2.2 Moab or whatever.

1/8 scall buggy tires ALONE arent tall enough to use.
they only meausure lik 4" high, and thats not gonna cut it
against guys who have 5.5" tires.

Yeah I plan to section them together until they are about 5.25 tall just like the Gladiators I made. Should work and no need for narrowing"thumbsup"

You dont have to narrow badlands when you make them 2.2. I ran them for awhile on my TLT, stock width on MSD's wheels. I recently narrowed them 3/8's of a inch and rotated them while I was at it. Thats the great part you can narrow them to whatever width you want.

Most people narrow Monster Truck size Badlands, to make them about 2" wide, then graph in Moab 2.2 sidewalls.

Sectioning tires to make them taller, is very hard to make all
4 tires precise. It's smarter to just use a tire that is the proper height,
then just remove the tread, and swap sidewalls, dont' you think?

Yeah I know I own a set. You said they "MUST" be narrowed which is wrong hence why I posted. They narrow up a decent bit just putting them on a narrow rim to start with.

Great tire IMHO. But,like any tire, terrain is the key. My Badlands work very well around here. They didn't do as well as I though they would in Utah.

Do you think the compound could be the key? Would they perform better in M3 in your opinion?

IMHO,The compound is a BIG part of the "key"

Different companies have different "super soft" or "super sticky" compounds. One companies M3 is probably different than anothers M3. Prolines compounds are good IMHO. I've not had much luck with IMEX,but things can change.

If your wanting to build bigger 2.2 tires, use the Maxx sized Badlands. They are nearly 6" tall and all you gotta do is add sidewalls. No need for adding tread section,so you'll only need 4.

Oh yeah,I edited your post and took the pics out. No need in quoting the picrtures;-)

There are spots I think the M3 might help. There are spots it might not work as well though. Badlands seem to work well in rough rock and jagged edges and loose soil for me anyways. Other stuff thats real smooth I can use wheel speed to get up usually. Most of those spots I can crawl with M2 M2k's. Probly due to the increased tread area more than anything.

Yep, Im a dummy:oops:. It would be easier to build the Maxx ones but the idea is to try this tread pattern in a softer compound. These are supposed to be comparable Prolines M3 rubber, guess Ill see:). My Rock Claws are great but they look just like everyone else with claws.....

All my Badlands are M3;-)

They are SUPPOSED to be comparable......are they? Nobody really knows from the sounds of it. IMHO,I'd just buy the Prolines and KNOW what your getting"thumbsup"

I know what your saying about looking like everyone else. Thats one reason I built my 40 series Badlands. I wanted something different and hoped it would work better than the Moabs. The Moab XL's worked decent when it was dry around my house, which it seldomly is. If there was any water or mud around, you had to avoid it like the plague if you wanted a snowballs chance in hell at making a climb.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe that Proline makes or made the Badlands tire in M3 or M2, only in xtr compound. The xtr compound is there hardest compound they make. I've looked on there site and they don't offer it in anything but the xtr. I know that when racing 1/8 scale buggies I always wanted to get the badlands in M2/M3 because xtr compound worked very well at the track I raced at, but a little softer/stickier would always be better. I'm not saying that they didn't make them, just have never been able to find a set in M2/M3 in the last few years.
