BB51 k5 build off

You got nothin'. My blue Jimmy will own yo azz :flipoff:

We've got til Oct. 1, so nobody's in a hurry.

O I got something my friend...im watching it on ebay as I type this...its a 1/8 scale camaro IROC model....hmmmmmm :flipoff::flipoff::flipoff:

haha "thumbsup"

I worked on this some more this last night till about 1:30... I narrowed and reduced up some almost new claw dawgs that came in the mail:mrgreen: and I have 8 more coming and I have an extra pathfinder tire carrier. Narrowing the tires was easy, I went with a staggered patten, reducing wasnt all that bad either, just need to take your time.

I think I want the ride height to be around this

I got the front links setup...drive shaft angle is going to be pretty steep :???: Not to sure what I can do about that yet

I have some parts coming in from Rc4wd, then I can really get going

Build you own skid plate out of a plate material and get rid of the delrin one. then set your tranny about 1/2" lower. Really helps out with the d shaft angle "thumbsup"

Tires looks great btw

Thats that I am actually thinking of doing right now, but it looks like there might be clearance issue with the width of the pede trans and motor :?: A clodzilla lower 4 link mount works great for that idea, We did this on my stepdads bb51 that we are working on. I also thinking of trying an R2 trans as well instead of a pede..not sure just yet.

Yeah there are some clearance issues. But all my pede trannys get hacked anyways so I made it fit when I did this to the G Wagen. I was also running a smaller spur gear so I could pull the motor in and away from the frame rails.

I just did a search for the g wagon and was looking at how you had it all set up. I am going to try a very similar set up. Do you remember what size spur you ran? The pede trans I have is HACKED up alot already so Ill cut more if need be

It was low 70's... But I know its possible to fit it ;-)

Mike , you can try the 3 link and panhard like I did on my c-10, also I use maxx shafts and the front angle makes no difference at all, they can take it.;-)

Found my next detail part for my k5, they ship 2morow "thumbsup"I ordered a few sets just in case, I think theyll look good. They are from a USA 1 which was a chevy.

I had the same problem with my BB51 drive line angles were too steep, so I ditched the stock skid, ditched the Pede trans and dropped in an R2 trans with a very thin delrin skid on the bottom. I also narrowed all the cross members so the frame rails bolt to the sides of the transmission. These changes made my BB so much more stable it is like a whole new truck!"thumbsup"

power plant

This truck is was going for a stockish look....but now...who knows...maybe itll be a sleeper

:lol::lol: Well, I have actually been into RC for a VERY long time (13years and counting), and as I build new things, I remember stuff that was made long ago when scale stuff was cool back then. I spent all week trying to source these damn things and I got lucky and found and rcmt member who is into pulling who had 2 of them, so I scooped them up today from him along with 2 seats from a big rig kit "thumbsup"

I was always into the scaler side of rc stuff, years ago when APM clod buster scale parts was big, I would go to my LHS and buy all the APM parts i could with my weekly allowance, yet I still had a MSC and bushings...but hey my clod looked cool :lol:

The Blazer is lookin wicked sweet, but those motors are the shiznit!!! You are really inspiring me (along with Stu's grill replacement) to get into this Blazer build off. Mine would just have the lowly Parma Hemi in it though.

I've been thinking about taking the body off of Green Bean and putting my Blazer body on it. I promised Mrs. Griz that I wouldn't start any new projects for the rest of the summer, but I never said I wouldn't change the ones I already have. "thumbsup"

I think it would look sweet with the wheel center painted black. It would really make the center caps pop.
