Bea

Well it’s coming along, but not handling at all. Yes the COG was raised with the body, so the front springs were way too stiff, and same out back. Driveshafts wobble drove me crazy. So spring swap time , dump green, back to orange and red. Was going to get a set of MIPS , but have had great luck with the Incision on the VS4, so grabbed a set.
Quick run showed springs are much closer, the pit bulls grip almost everything I’ve thrown at them.
I did do another “minor” adjustment, dual stage foams out back..... that was spot on, I can see and feel the difference on sidehills and starting the climb...... it all adds up!

Well sounded positive, I guess I was close, but not close enough. The hill of death got better, but still no go.
So after watching I went even softer on springs, medium (red) up front, Soft(pink) out back. I also discovered weight was still an issue up front, so a stinger bumper was acquired and the front battery tray and servo mount was replaced with a modified stock one...... not happy totally, but that’s another post.

What I also spotted was something amiss up front. Nothing interfering , but......... it was the tie rod too wide and servo horn off one tooth and needed a bent link end , and now it’s straight and square!

Battery tray fits the 2200 3s perfect, including the strap.

Pleasant update!
Bea made the climb on Zach’s hill of death!
About 50 degrees , but it’s a section of conveyor belt, flexes, ripples, sways, and is slick.
In full trim, interior and spare tire .
Second try after backing out, was a smooth edge grabber and the Holmes power came through!
The difference this week was switching those springs, and the stingers weight. I do still need a couple of ounces more up front, so I will work for that.

Nice updates! Wertymade bumper looks good. I have one on my TRX-4 and love it. They are beefy and add a decent amount of weight up front.

How's the Dravtech shocks working out? I'm still debating on getting a set.

Agree about Werty Made, those sliders are also Werty Made.
I also added the rear bumper, Scalerfab made this one with shackle mounts welded on.
Those with eagle eyes will also note the SSD scale hubs , they work well and look much better than black nylocks. The Dravtech‘ work as expected , A titanium shaft is now available.... (shock pliers are a must for the Traxxas stock shafts in the kit) as the cup needs to unscrew to spring tune .......... these shocks work best in droop, I’m running almost the same package in my Bullyll MOA

Weight young man!!
Need to plant the front, these are ugly as sin, but they are heavy.
They are also a PIA to mount to the SSD axles

They may be ugly, but they work. Always looking for that “extra” picked up a Vader Delrin flat skid, some Ti shock shafts for the Dravtech , along with some rebuild kits.Haven’t had one issue, but rather have them on hand. I did notice that the stock servo mount flexes, unlike the original Bowhouse which was rock steady, so grabbed an alloy mount and a stock battery tray.

I must say this truck is becoming quite formidable , almost up to my buddy’s Toyzuki, but The motor difference is hard to beat.
I did make it up the “Wall of Death” ( a flexible conveyor belt section that is 48 degrees and slick and bouncy) the Crawlmaster is the bomb here, just keeps pulling up!

Doesn’t look like much, but looks are deceiving ! The stock battery tray and servo mount are Axial plastic, or rubber! I watched the servo load up and wondered where I was going to go. This was the best $20. Spent in a while. Now it has eliminated that, I can drive a straight and true line for 12 feet so that will make it far easier to stay true.
I also ditched the stock Axial motor mount screws, went to a hex head and dropped the pinion to 11 and it is much happier!

Same time I picked up a Vader skid for clearance . Installed easily and allows Traxxas balls for rods

Great center clearance didn’t hurt COG badly, will need a seat trim for fit as it sits1/4” up
A large difference with balance, no servo deflection , shock tuning and now clearance !

Stopped by the LHS for Enduro parts order, they just got in the OD gear set that’s been on BO for months, well Bea has new gears and an incision locker

Well time to update this thread, after building an Enduro for the wife, Bea needed some love, as I stole Bea’s light bar ,so she got the trans and dig from the VS4, which now runs the VFD. What is different here is the motor is in a totally different location, even though it’s still the 3gear trans. It’s also a different motor! Had a 13t Crawlmaster in here, and now a 16t Reedy 5 slot. Reason is the wife’s truck is 2s, I run 3s so she has a 13, I’ve got the 16 and speeds are equal between them!

Hey Mike, saw over in the Enduro posts that you were moving that Reedy 16T to Bea and Wonder how you feel about it in your Axial so far? I’m putting together a Mog right now and motor options are that same five slot out of my Enduro or a 35T Torquemaster I got from a cool feller on the forum. It’s mix and match week here.

And your wife’s pink paint job moved me to do some “makeup-ey” colors on this Mog, I think.

I’m happy with the 16t, the 13 does have more wheel speed but torque and drivability is great. I do think the Holmes has smoother startup. I will add , this 16t is the “rebuildable” not the RTR can

I might go to a magnum, but not sure as creep ability on both these trucks is smooth already

Glad to see the VS4 trans found a home! Bea is going love it!"thumbsup"

I've been debating on what to do with my VS4 trans. Maybe a good candidate for a build this winter!
